What are the best supermarket stollen and mince pies?

Enjoyed the Aldi mini stollen I've tried, is it the best or should I try Lidl too?

Do we have a verdict yet on the mince pie crop this year - where are the nicest to be found?

Good Housekeeping rates Morrisons mince pies top (both normal and gluten free). Don't know about stollen though.

Love Lidl Stollen, got the hazelnut version for the last couple of years and it's a family favourite. They did either an apple or toffee apple Stollen 2-3 years ago which was the best we ever had but haven't been able to find it in store since. Also love their Stollen bites. They did a Lemon Panettone like cake as well last year, which was lovely too but so far I've only managed to find a plain one. Havent tried the Aldi Stollen so can't compare but Lidls is definitely worth a try.

Oh I will try Morrisons mince pies!

There is mini apple stollen in Aldi

The Heston mince pies with lemon are wonderful. Normal Waitrose all butter ones were very disappointing.

M&S 'posh' rather than basic ones are very good.

Sainsbo's Taste the Difference excellent.

And Greggs - love them!

Dont forget to test the Aldi chocolate dipped lebkuchen, I love those.

There was an article on this this week - also mince pies rated best and Lidl's rates worst!

Lidl Stollen is lovely

Co op made in store mince pies are absolutely delicious.

I can report that Iceland extra special ones are rather delicious and I prefer them to the Aldi ones which are a bit too citrusy for me.

Absolutely the best stollen is the M&S connoisseur range, I used to rate the aldi special one, but the m&s one is sooooo much nicer!

For mince pies Iceland has won in every taste test I have read.

I went to 2 different Lidl's last week, 25 miles between them and they only did the normal mini Stollen. I'm gutted! Hope they appear in my local ones soon otherwise I'll be getting you to send me numerous packs! 😁

Iceland seem to do well year on year, I need to try these.

Baking my own won't be happening this year, thanks to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and a host of symptoms. One day I'd love to bake a whole range of Christmas treats though! We have a delicious pudding recipe in the family.

Morrison’s The Best won Good Housekeeping and BBC Good Food top awards. Their Black Forest mince pies are awesome, too.

Aldi frangipane mince pies are even nicer than the M&S ones.

Another vote for Iceland's Extra Special/Luxury ones, didn't touch the sides and just the right brandy/filling/pasty ratio

Morrisons lattice top mince pies. Both DS and I declared them the best we'd ever had when we had them last week!

Tesco Finest mince pies are my favourite. Definitely not an M&S fan.
