I saw this on Buzzfeed and thought it was interesting. What is the craziest/funniest rumour you have heard about yourself?
I once heard I was a gogo dancer (I was in high school at the time) and my students once spread a rumour I had ran away to Prague.

Also my then four year old told her Reception teacher that I was pregnant with twins. She even gave the ‘twins ‘ names
I was not pregnant

So many of us have had the lesbian/slut one. Almost always started by men we didn't want to sleep with.

It's incredible how many men assume this when you don't fancy them. "Lol, no. Look at yourself." This would be my answer today.

I wonder if it is different for girls at school today? Are they still being tormented with the lesbian/slut thing?

That I let the kids stay up til the small hours with loud music on and also that I was always out partying. Truth was I never went out due to having no support/babysitters and was always too tired to stay up too late! Coming from a family member who is a grandmother but is regularly seen 'pickled' at family gatherings Confused.

I was asked about the big fight I'd had with someone at school. What had actually happened was I'd held her back so my friend could get away as she was being hit and pushed. So not quite as exciting (although nice to be acknowledged by the popular girlsGrin).

I'm sure there are more about me but sadly I don't know what.

That I am a transitioning trans woman. This was put on social media by a political opponent. It didn't bother me in the slightest. Just made him seem like a dick.

Overall it is arguably more socially acceptable to be gay but I suspect now that I'd have rumours that I'm a transman these days.

That I was stealing from the charity shop where I was (and still am) volunteering.

I was shown text messages that the manager had sent to another volunteer faking concern that I was stealing from the safe.

It turned out that she was 'borrowing' from the takings and then tried to change the paperwork to cover up as well as setting me up to take the blame.

Luckily for me, she was so inept that her manager caught on to what she was up to.

Anyone who doesn't think men don't bitch have never been in a male dominated University society

Yeahhh .... now that was a minor but unpleasant surprise.

RunSweatLaughAndLatte · 30/11/2018 23:57

That I'm a slag who sleeps around. I had a boyfriend at the time and didn't sleep around! Shock

Moved into a small village, the rumour was that we were Australian and were turning the house into a nursing home. Fast forward four years and the next big story was. Because I was pregnant at 44 OH was not the Father, that one did the rounds in the village and local pub until baby appeared and was the spitting image of his father.
