What is on your sideboard?

We've just got a sideboard for our living room. It's white and oak and I've put a large mirror on the wall above it. I've got a new lamp on one end and a few candles on the other but it looks a bit empty. What else can we put on it. I was thinking about a big vase or plant or both.

What is on yours?

Pile of books.
Some old receipts.
A banana.
Four hair bobbles.
A shopping list.

Thanks! Obviously I thought hard about what to put on my side board. I forgot to add two flies to my list. That was unintentional design though.

Oh no I just sold my side board as it was getting fit to burst with 'stuff', not to mention on the top becoming a breeding ground for dumped keys, lip balms, blu tac, bobbles anything else you could possibly think odd and random. Blush sorry I am absolutely no help.

Kitchen is being done so sideboard is covered in plates, cutlery, bottles etc. Usually though, fruit bowl, jug of flowers. Books.

I have two sideboards!

One in kitchen/diner has Sonos speaker, Georg Jensen carafe, salt and pepper pots from Morocco, and three different candle holders and candles.

Other one in entrance hall/piano room has lamp, telephone, photos of DCs, glass bowl and a pile of DH's toot that he leaves like letters, coins, headphones etc etc.

ohwownosnow · 24/11/2018 20:13

Temporaryanonymity · 24/11/2018 20:18

Alexa. A vase, photo frame, coffee set (my grandmother's) and a glass fruit bowl that should contain fruit but currently contains my admin.

GiantKitten · 24/11/2018 20:18

I gave a dresser rather than a sideboard

It mainly has a three-tier filing tray, piled so high it needs a weight on top, plus another pile of random Stuff alongside 🙄

Also a lamp & a scentsy warmer

Not a pretty sight really

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/11/2018 20:19

DH's solution appears to be a fuckton of empty envelopes that he has extracted mail from and abandoned...

juneybean · 24/11/2018 20:19
