What is on your sideboard?

We've just got a sideboard for our living room. It's white and oak and I've put a large mirror on the wall above it. I've got a new lamp on one end and a few candles on the other but it looks a bit empty. What else can we put on it. I was thinking about a big vase or plant or both.

What is on yours?

The broadband box, a framed picture of DS as a small boy, a hideous decorated antique dog bowl that DH is very fond of and I haven't quite had the heart to break yet, a light up dog ball and a tin of tea lights.

Hi @gussiefox Smile

This is the same, but white - mine is gold, but that’s out of stock

I really like the white one though!

Framed wedding photo, reed diffuser, large vase with artificial flowers in it and currently a Christmas fleece blanket that I got out of the loft and washed.

Pile of books, plants, antique cocktail shaker, fruit bowl, candles, various black and white photos on wall above. Needs a lamp.

Thanks @giantkitten - that is superb! We have a very old Next one which is a rabbit, but the bulb and shade sit above his ears. Looks like they deliver to France too Grin

Some of DH's golf trophys, some of my Iranian glass, a lamp, a picture, a plant, half a packet of Revels and a small pot with some of my parent's ashes in.

It's quite a big sideboard.

A lamp , a digital radio and some ceramic ghosts by a danish designer

A couple of my nicest bottles of tequila in wooden cases, a bar runner, a couple of cocktail shakers, jiggers and julep cups, my favourite stein, a pewter wine jug and matching set of goblets. There's a theme.

TeacupDrama · 27/11/2018 14:47

sideboard 1 has 5 family photos, a large victorian ewer that doubles a vase, DH birthday cards and a figurine that was my late MIL's

sideboard 2 a large hand carved wooden figure, a pair of art nouveau vases, an antique rose bowl and 3 letters from school dumped there by DD also appears to be a purple balloon that has gone down but is precious and must not be moved!!!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 27/11/2018 15:02

A table runner, two plants, a ceramic plate we won in a raffle at the weekend, an unwritten birthday card and a bag for life full of bulbs that DH has left there for a month but apparently it's Not To Be Moved (it's getting moved on saturday when I do the Pre-Christmas Tidy).

Usually 2 photo frames and a nice globe.

Now a large Lego set, which will probably stay as I have no where else for it.

I love that hare lamp!!
We have a sideboard in the kitchen and have a small collection of tealight holders, a 3 armed candelabra, a glass cloche thing, and some other ornaments but it doesn't look messy

Proseccoagain · 27/11/2018 21:29
