How many pairs of PJs do your DC have?

GreedyBastard · 21/11/2018 16:45

I have done a massive clearout today of kids clothes ect. I was going to buy both DC some new PJs this week but now ive got to the bottom of the wash basket all dried and put away Blush

They have
DC3 8 pairs
DD18months 6 pairs
Now surely this is enough! Why does it always feel like they have none?

Had me wondering how many PJs have your DC got?

Approximately six billion pairs each. But they're still never the right size.

Solongtoshort · 21/11/2018 17:05

Lol l was going to answer after having a clear out last week only Growingboys has the correct answer.

KindergartenKop · 21/11/2018 17:06

6 year old has 3 pairs. 3 year old has about 6 which is definitely too many.

This is meant kindly: perhaps you need to keep a bit more on top of the washing Wink

DD- age 21 months- too bloody many
DS- age 9- about 8-10 sets

sickmumma · 21/11/2018 17:58

DD age 4 - 10 long sleeved and about 6 shorts sleeved.

DS age 7 - loads and loads as he gets his brother hand me downs plus new!

DS age 8 - three shorts, 5 long pairs.

Stuckforthefourthtime · 21/11/2018 18:02

Mine have 2-3 pairs each, we do a lot of washing so circulate them a lot.

Are you one of the only-on-mumsnet crowd who wear new pyjamas every day? Ours change theirs a few times a week or whenever they get lots of breakfast or toothpaste on them, they don't get messy or that sweaty so can't see the need for more often...

small2018 · 21/11/2018 18:04

Haha so so so so many!

OutPinked · 21/11/2018 18:05

About seven or eight pairs a piece which is fairly excessive considering they wear a pair for 3 nights at a time I’d say.

candlefloozy · 21/11/2018 18:05

Loads! But in smaller sizes because she never wears any to bed.

ButtMuncher · 21/11/2018 18:06

DS (2) has about 10 pairs varying between long sleeve and short sleeve shorts and long trousers. It's probably more to be fair, but he's often wet in the morning despite having a nappy! We don't wash everyday as we don't have a tumble dryer. I always buy a size up so he's in them for longer and for me I'd rather have too many than too few if he's wet, dirty or has D&V

MrsRhettButler · 21/11/2018 18:08

Dd1 is 13 and wears a vest and knickers through choice but she owns about 6 pairs.
Dd2 is 7 and has about 20 pairs but in my defence she gets given a lot.

Mine definitely change pj's nightly, it's in the crotch area and Dd2 doesn't wear knickers with hers, if she did maybe I wouldn't change them nightly.

xyzandabc · 21/11/2018 18:10

1 pair each, only worn for going on sleepovers or residential trips with school/cubs etc.
At home they all just wear pants to bed. They're choice, they used to have lots of pyjamas but all stopped wearing them.

PepsiLola · 21/11/2018 18:13

My DS (5) probably has about 8 sets. But often wears undies and a tee

My DD (2) has about 3 sets, but always wears her brothers as she loves dinosaur designs

Millie2013 · 21/11/2018 19:30

DD seems to have loads, but different sized ones. She’s 5.5, but still in 4-5 clothes, but I bought some 5-6 in the sale which she wears even though they’re a bit big
Some are summer ones too and she’s also got this year’s and last years (bought in the jan sales) Christmas PJs
She wears a clean pair every few nights

DoveSecret · 21/11/2018 19:32

I dont have any. I wear nothing. Mad panic should i need some for a hospital!

Kids have a couple each.

Stabbitha · 21/11/2018 19:33

Too fucking many.

gamerwidow · 21/11/2018 19:34

DD has about 8 but only 2 that she’ll actually wear so I do a lot of washing.

Papewrath · 21/11/2018 19:34

DS has three sets he refuses to wear (holes in knees and to be fair, probably on the small side now) and 2 short sleeved and two long sleeved pairs.

megletthesecond · 21/11/2018 19:35

They're 12 and 10.

Loads of pairs Blush.

TwllBach · 21/11/2018 19:37

DS 2.5 has 2 summer sets but will have a few more for next summer and 8 long ones - 3 character sets, a multipack of 3 from next and 2 from a small business that I love. I can’t guarantee I won’t buy him some traditional style red tartan/check ones for December Blush

I find boys clothes quite depressing so I think I’m making up for it with pyjamas and bedding!

SoyDora · 21/11/2018 19:40

No idea to be honest but they never run out of clean ones so must be quite a few!

OddestSock · 21/11/2018 19:43

Erm, probably about 20 pairs each 🙄

HippoLatte · 21/11/2018 19:43

DS1 (16) only wears PJ bottoms and a normal Tshirt and he has about 3 pairs of bottoms that fit right so he definitely needs more.

DS2 (12) hates wearing them but has one set for if any emergencies crop up. He wears his underwear in bed and around the house until I end up having to tell him to put some bloody clothes on

DD (4) has way too many BUT my drier seems to shrink everything so a lot of them need dumped (or if the bottoms fit ok I'll team it with one of her tshirts in a matching colour). I also washed a few pairs with a hot pink sheet which has dyed everything a lovely shade of pink.

I love PJs though and probably have more than all the kids combined!

MyCatIsAFiend · 21/11/2018 19:46

Mine is 3 and has about 7 pairs but 3 are summer pyjamas so he could definitely do with some more!

User0ne · 21/11/2018 19:48

Presuming I'm going to be the only person whose children have 0 pairs; 2yrs and 8mo, they both just sleep in nappies.

Neither myself or hubby do PJ's either
