Oldest person you know?

How old is the oldest person you know? Not someone you’ve heard about, but someone actually known to you.

I know an 89 year old but no one older.

Mrsfenchurch · 17/11/2018 18:41

Both my grannies, 96 and 95, both widows of 30 and 15 years, but still living independently in their own homes. Inspirational!

KatherinaMinola · 17/11/2018 18:42

Met a local guy who is 103.

BillywigSting · 17/11/2018 18:43

My grandad is 93 but I'd be very very surprised if he lives to see 94, he is not at all a well man and it sounds awful but it will a kindness when he does go (though still obviously very sad. He is a fascinating and highly intelligent man who led quite an incredible life)

haverhill · 17/11/2018 18:43

My dad who’s 88.

MamaMilkMachine · 17/11/2018 18:43

My gramps is 91 and amazing, he's still active, travels half way across the country on train to visit family, texts me using text speak haha, here's hoping he makes it to 100 and my DD can create some memories of him Smile

AlbusPercival · 17/11/2018 18:43

Friend's father is 97 and still takes 'ladies from the village' out to lunch ... in his Mortis Traveller

littleblackno · 17/11/2018 18:48

People are getting older. When I started in my career it was far less frequent to meet people in late 90s and over 100. Now it’s much more common.

A580Hojas · 17/11/2018 18:48

Dh's great aunt is 98 or 99. Until 2 years ago she lived in a house with the only toilet upstairs. Now she's in sheltered housing but very sadly recently lost one of her sons to cancer (but he was in his mid 70s) and this has affected her terribly, as you can imagine.

MaMisled · 17/11/2018 18:49

A gentleman who turned 100 last month. Sharp as a box of ferrets and walks without a stick!

TheWickedWitchofWestYorkshire · 17/11/2018 18:50

Dh's gran. 93.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 17/11/2018 18:53

DH's gran and gramps are 90 and 91. I did used to chat with a 101 year old man at my grandad's nursing home. As far as I know, he's still going at 105!

sickmumma · 17/11/2018 18:54

My next door neighbour is 102! Amazing woman! Then it's my great aunt who was 92 last week!

ALongHardWinter · 17/11/2018 18:55

A woman who lives down the road from me is 93. She doesn't look or act it though. If she hadn't told me her age,I would have put her at 75. She is sprightly and very with it and swears like a trooper

Peachydream · 17/11/2018 18:58

My Nan, 92. Widow of 40yrs. Sharp, insightful & forward thinking.

Registered blind but has the most amazing knowledge of feminism, politics & current affairs. I will need to brush up on this weeks Westminster shambles as she will ask my opinion when I see her next week!

Jenniferturkington · 17/11/2018 19:10
