How old is the oldest person you know? Not someone you’ve heard about, but someone actually known to you.

I know an 89 year old but no one older.

My Dad is 88 & still playing tennis (outdoors) twice a week. I manage a charity shop & one of my volunteers will be 90 next year and plenty are in their mid-late 80s. One of our congregation at church has just died aged 100.

My Great Nan is 103, 104 in January! She's always been very with it but in the last six months or so has slowed down a bit 😕 up until six months ago she was still doing everything for herself, even gardening! She's amazing 😍

MalcolmsBrokenWalrusMoneybox · 17/11/2018 20:47

A friend of my aunt is now 110.

ForalltheSaints · 17/11/2018 20:48

A neighbour of my mum who is 93 or 94, I think. The last person I knew who was alive in World War 1 died five years ago aged 95.

I have a colleague who will be celebrating their 90th birthday soon. They're still working.

AdoraBell · 17/11/2018 21:25

FIL, 85. Until a couple of weeks ago it was DH’s great aunt at 95.

Weebeastiebaby · 17/11/2018 21:27

I once cared for a man who was 104. We asked him about it one day when he was shouting at football on tv and he said he still felt like a teenager and had never felt any different.

E20mom · 17/11/2018 21:30

Dh's grandad, who is 92. My great grandma was 94 but she died almost 8 years ago. She was the oldest person I've ever known.

Rockbird · 17/11/2018 21:47

A friend and work colleague who is about to turn 90. She has way more energy than I've ever had.

Littlebighorn · 17/11/2018 22:41

108, my DF’s SM’s sister, but like a grandma to me and my siblings.
Frail but sharp as a tack.

HildaZelda · 17/11/2018 22:43

FIL is 92, but not been too well for the past year or so. I'm not sure if he'll make it to 93 :(

I knew a lady who was 105 when she died. Sharp as a tack. Wore little heels, painted her nails and wore lipstick and blusher. Went out to bingo a couple of nights a week. Was doing all this right up to a week before she died, then got pneumonia and it took her in the space of a week.
