Can't find my way out, the only stairs I can see go to a car park
Ah well

Our Waitrose is on the 7th floor. That blows people's minds the first time. They stand by the lift looking baffled.

Before I moved, so was mine. Are you Notquiterichenough to live in CW? The bafflement by the lifts amuses me too!

I got lost in a big new Next yesterday. After wandering helplessly from the cafe to menswear to ladieswear to childrenswear and then homewear, I had to ask an assistant for directions to the exit Blush

Poppyinagreenfield · 17/11/2018 14:52

Did I meet you last week? You were standing at the exit and asked me how to get out. When I pointed you to the door you replied “No. Not that one “

Iwantacampervan · 17/11/2018 14:53

I nearly got lost in a large M&S yesterday. I found the item I needed and then tried to follow signs until eventually reaching somewhere to hand over cash & then I had to locate the exit. All was not lost as a very kind member of staff was handing out shortbread to the queues, so I would not have died of starvation!

Kintan · 17/11/2018 14:53

I got lost in Jenner's in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago!

IsSheWeird · 17/11/2018 14:57

Haha lemonwood I think I know which one it is too, deffo not rich enough or CW

lazymare · 17/11/2018 14:57

In the Glasgow Waitrose, the stairs lead to my old student flat. Sadly (or luckily) it was a Safeway when I lived there.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2018 15:01

Are you in Kingston? I did this.

StealthPolarBear · 17/11/2018 15:01

I am in windsor

Being trapped in Waitrose is not exactly a hardship. Just think, you could be trapped in Aldi (which is akin to a jumble sale) and where none of the products are recognisable.

DeadZed · 17/11/2018 15:04

Could be worse, you could be trapped in ikea. You’d be lost forever.

At least you would be comfortable though.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2018 15:04

Buy some millionaire’s shortbread and take a free cup of coffee.

Someone will come to dig you out eventually.

Wauden · 17/11/2018 15:06

I got lost in the local shopping centre when I went there for the first time. No Waitrose there, unfortunately.

GreenDinosaur · 17/11/2018 15:07

I have been trapped in Aldi before.
Not lost but definitely trapped. DS and I were desperately cowering at the end of an aisle while evil MIL stalked up and down by the tills with her beady eyes trying to locate us.
It was just like that scene from Jurassic Park with the velociraptors in the kitchen. Shock

Hassled · 17/11/2018 15:10

I had a bit of a "where the fuck is the exit help me" moment in Waitrose in Bath recently. It's not being able to see the horizon that gets you. But at least in a Waitrose you have the confidence that a staff member will serenely guide you out.

chocolatebox1 · 17/11/2018 15:21

I get hopelessly lost in the underground shopping centres in Canary Wharf. I'm still not sure if they all connect with each other or you have to go up to the street level and back down to get into them. The car parks there are even easier to get lost in. I nearly had a panic attack once when after walking around for an hour, I realised I had absolutely no idea where my car was

Lemon like what you've done there Wink

Yes, 7th floor, and we have a travelator (flat escalator) that goes down to floor 5.

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/11/2018 16:35

Whilst lost just put stuff in your trolley costing around £50.
In Aldi that would be ski suits for your extended family, a horse riding hat and a few tins of clams.
In Waitrose it's one organic lettuce.

Bluntness100 · 17/11/2018 16:45

I got lost in a shopping centre thing in Moscow two weeks ago. I only went in to buy cigarettes. I genuinely couldn't find an exit and was getting a bit panicky, people kept shrugging at me as I didn't speak Russian and them English. Eventually I found a lady who did speak enough English , unfortunately she then grabbed my hand and attempted to do my nails before I could get away, in an attempt to sell me something, by the time I got out, I'm not kidding, I felt proper shell shocked at my own ineptitude . 🤣

The same thing happened to me in Bath Waitrose. It is huge and very easy to get lost in! Very confusing layout over two floors!

BedraggledBlitz · 17/11/2018 16:56

I've never been in a confusing Waitrose. Don't you just need to head for the fruit? Like a river will lead to the sea.

ForalltheSaints · 17/11/2018 16:58

Ours in on the ground floor and the miaows of the cat who waits outside are a useful guide.

OP, are you back home now?

StealthPolarBear · 17/11/2018 17:06

I will try that. I spotted toilets so will go back to try them. The ones in M&S were very disappointing.. I am not home, I am wandering while DH and dcs at rugby

Grin Reminds me of Father Ted. Did you find any traumatised priests in the lingerie department?
