I’ve just been listening to Disturbeds version of Sound of Silence and I have to say I honestly love it more than the original, it nearly brought me to tears this evening and I find it so emotional, however I can’t really think of any other songs where the cover is better than the original, so is there any songs you love more than the original version?

Oh and White Stripes version of Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself.

Bluebelltulip · 13/11/2018 19:51

Seether's version of careless Whisper.

WineGummyBear · 13/11/2018 19:51

Come Together - Michael Jackson's version, much prefer it to the Beatles

Ceebeegee · 13/11/2018 19:52

Nine inch nails cover of Zoo Station by U2

Or
Solitary Man by HIM

Fatted · 13/11/2018 19:52

Have to agree with the Pet Shop Boys 'Always on my mind'.

I can't believe someone said they prefer the Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson version of the Zuton's 'Valarie'! Just no!!

notacooldad · 13/11/2018 19:55

I prefer the cover of Love Buzz by Nirvana than the original.
Gone away By five finger death punch rather than the original by The Offspring

This Flight by Nazareth is miles better than Joni Mitchell

I prefer Judas Priests version of Diamonds and Rust.
I like Saxon' s Run like the wind more than the original.
Ugly Kid Joe's cats in the Craddle is far superior to the original.

The Disturbed's Sound of Silence has been played to death . I love their normal stuff and this was a wtf moment when I heard it. Even their cover of Land of Confusion was better, in my opinion of course.

Sometimes it depends on my mood. I sometimes prefer Jack White or Miley Cyrus doing Jolene thsn Dolly, then I change my mind!
Sometimes I like Turn the Page more by Metallica and then I have quite moments when only Bob Segar will do!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 13/11/2018 19:57

This Mortal Coil's "Song to the Siren".

Jellybeanduck · 13/11/2018 19:59
Five Finger Death Punch, although I do like the original Offspring version.

Fall out boy - beat it.
Alien ant farm - smooth criminal

BathFullOfEels · 13/11/2018 20:25

I’d quite like to see Coldplay being literally shat on

Eenymeeny123 · 13/11/2018 20:25

The fall recorded some brilliant covers my favourite is lost in music.

My all time favourite cover is the stranglers 'walk on by'.

Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold
KD Lang - Hallelujah (much to DPs disappointment)
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes (again much to DPs disappointment)
