Are there any songs that you prefer a cover of than the original?

I’ve just been listening to Disturbeds version of Sound of Silence and I have to say I honestly love it more than the original, it nearly brought me to tears this evening and I find it so emotional, however I can’t really think of any other songs where the cover is better than the original, so is there any songs you love more than the original version?

When that comes on the shuffle and I'm running, I usually have to stop and LMAO, otherwise I get out of breath. So f*ing funny.

Whole heartedly agree with smooth criminal cover. One of my favourite songs ever!!

There's a version of Stand by Me that Florence and the Machine did for Final Fantasy XV that I really really love - it's the whole combination of Florence who I love anyway, and how they've managed to weave the Final Fantasy harp theme into it and everything that's just gorgeous.

And the other way round - Robyn with Dancing on my own. Had only heard the Calum Scott cover and thought it was the original, didn't really like it. Hearing Robyns version a few years later was a revelation

Agree re pet shop boys and always on my mind. Whenever I hear it I'm 18 again and at club trop in Manchester. I also like White Lion's version of radar love.

I wouldn't say better Han the original but I rather liked candy Flips version of Strawberry Fields when it came out .
