For me it's Queen & Michael Jackson. Listening to Queen a lot before I see Bohemian Rhapsody & they are just so good!

We had tickets to see Michael Jackson just before he died, I was gutted I'll never see him live.

Any others?

MCR.

BearSoFair · 09/11/2018 17:38

David Bowie

I saw Blur in 2012 and they were great, wish I'd gone to see them in the 90s as I imagine they were probably even better then!

Babybearsporij · 09/11/2018 17:47

Queen, of course.
Oasis in the 90s.

SilverySurfer · 09/11/2018 17:57

I saw Queen a couple of times - no words to describe how fantastic they were. I am still absolutely furious with Freddie for dying - he had so many good years left in him and my interest in music died with him.

Saw Thin Lizzie who I loved and saw the Rolling Stones play a gig in a pub in Richmond before they were famous. Had no idea how far they were going to go.

Would have loved to have gone to a Beatles concert with my Dad who was their biggest fan. Other singers/bands I would have liked to have seen:

Adam Faith
Roxy Music
Ultravox

Sometimes it hurts to see your idols - Status Quo droned through their gig in about 1986 making it very clear they had played every song 1000 times before and were bored stiff of them. Similarly Thin Lizzy at Hammy O with Phil Lynott who was clearly having a very bad day.

Peter Gabriel on the other hand is always value for money. He seems to love performing as much as the crowd loves watching him as does Jimmy Somerville.

Overheard at a Quo gig ...

Have you see the Quo before ?
Yeah, on their farewell tour.
Oh, right. Which one ?

haverhill · 09/11/2018 18:27

Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett.
Joy Division
Simple Minds

Crusoe · 09/11/2018 18:48

Quo would have been out of their minds on drugs in 86, their concerts have got better since.

BitOutOfPractice · 09/11/2018 18:56

@70isaLimitNotaTarget you'd have done well to see the killers in 2002 as they'd only just formed age were playing bars in Vegas at the time.

Racheyg · 09/11/2018 19:00

Queen
Nirvana
Fleetwood mac - offered tickets 3 years ago but was on the day for my c section with ds2

CBA2RTFT · 09/11/2018 19:19

Well I did see Bowie (in 1996) and he was... OK!
A PP said wished they'd seen Neil Young in his prime. No idea when his prime was, but I saw him in the 90s. I wasn't a fan, but he was fab!
Was also lucky enough to see The Smiths.

I wish I'd seen Nirvana and Radiohead in their prime. And Muse about 10 years ago.

My mum saw Queen in the late 70s and said they were amazing!

Whyiseveryonesoangry · 09/11/2018 19:26

Queen
Meatloaf

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2018 19:27

Grin , I was years out I think, ......when was Mr Brightside? I remember thinking "I've never heard this song" and I was surprised it was so long ago. !

.

IndigoSpritz · 09/11/2018 19:27

Pink Floyd.

JintyandtheJs · 09/11/2018 19:35

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 09/11/2018 19:36

DH saw Prince and Blondie.

I saw Kajagoogoo and Howard Jones.

If I could go back and swap...

Dowser · 09/11/2018 19:38

Queen, Beatles, stones, Simon and Garfunkel
It would be easier to name the few I have seen to be honest.

Three bands I’ll never regret are Prodigy and offspring and levellers

Santaclarita · 09/11/2018 19:46

Queen
Meat loaf
Acdc

ggirl · 09/11/2018 19:50

I saw Queen , Elton John and BB King , all amazing.

I wish I'd seen Madonna and Michael Jackson

Rockbird · 09/11/2018 19:57

Seen Blondie and Debbie Harry so many times I've lost count. First time was 1980, most recent was almost exactly a year ago.

Also saw Kajagoogoo Grin. Have seen most people I wanted to except Queen and Kate Bush.

blueangel1 · 09/11/2018 19:58

I'm a big Queen fan and was lucky enough to see them in the Freddie days, but I never managed to see Led Zep.

blueangel1 · 09/11/2018 19:59

Thinking about it, another band I'm very sad I missed was My Chemical Romance.

Stinkycheeseandbreadcrumbs · 09/11/2018 20:06

I saw Prince at the O2. I thought it'd be a crap venue but it was fantastic.

I'd love to see Neil Young but concert tickets cost a fortune these days.

Saw quite a lot of brit pop bands that i loved at the time but seem quite underwhelming in terms of memory. Even oasis tbh.

Recall an amazing Gnarls Berkeley concert in a really small north London venue.

Cocolepew · 09/11/2018 20:06

Fellow, Blondie fan here Rockbird . They haven't been to Belfast for a few years though.
Ive seen them about 5 times in all.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 09/11/2018 20:07

The Smiths. Have seen Morrissey live numerous times, but was too young for The Smiths and wish I hadn’t been.
