For me it's Queen & Michael Jackson. Listening to Queen a lot before I see Bohemian Rhapsody & they are just so good!

We had tickets to see Michael Jackson just before he died, I was gutted I'll never see him live.

Any others?

I regret not seeing Shania Twain live at her peak 20 years ago.

Queen with Freddie in the line up.

I have seen them 5 x with Adam Lambert and he is a phenomenal talent in his own right and May and Taylor are still absolute titans. So I would say to everyone here saying they would like to see Queen it is so worth it. Amazing guitar solos by May, Roger Taylor drum battle but Brian May signing Love of My Life with Freddie behind him on the screen so it looked like they were singing to each other is one of the most emotional “live” moments I have ever seen; the loss is still obviously so raw for them.

Lambert’s voice is easily good enough, for some songs even better and he has a showmanship that isn’t trying to be Freddie but that you know Freddie would have applauded. He takes the role with a great respect and his version of Who Wants to Live Forever is spine tingling.

So I recommend them to everyone but would stil loved to have seen Freddie. My Dad was at Wembley in 86 and cried when he first saw them with Lambert as he never thought he’d see anything as good ever again, but it was.

Sorry for the ramble, autistic and Queen are my special interest!!!

Great post. You’ve completely inspired me to go see Queen + Adam Lambert 😃

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 09/11/2018 13:02

The Smiths. I was a teenager when they were around but too young to go alone and nobody else I knew liked them!

bblondemoment · 09/11/2018 13:02

Would've loved to have seen INXS

Azelma · 09/11/2018 13:11

Madonna. I had the Virgin Tour and one of her other early tours on VHS and nearly wore out the tapes.

DGRossetti · 09/11/2018 13:15

Saw AC/DC in '82 (For Those About to Rock tour) ... sadly just after the Bonn years.

Saw Queen at Knebworth in 86, Thin Lizzy in 83, The Who in 89, U2 in 87, Rolling Stones in 82.

The one I feel I missed was Led Zeppelin circa 1975 (Earls Court). They sort of slid live after that Sad. That said, Robert Plant is simply a legend - and a great gig when he plays Wolverhampton Smile.

Oh, saw Dire Straits (don't hear them so much Hmm) in 85.

TheVonTrappFamilySwingers · 09/11/2018 13:17

@GoldenBuns I did see Nirvana at Reading - it was actually 1991. I piss DH off a lot telling him I saw them, as he never did. Grin

For me I think David Bowie.

rugbychick1 · 09/11/2018 13:18

Queen and the original Beach Boys

rugbychick1 · 09/11/2018 13:19

And ABBA

rugbychick1 · 09/11/2018 13:19

And George Michael and INXS

Loonoon · 09/11/2018 13:26

Like so many others I wish I’d seen Queen with Freddie but I was lucky enough too see them with Adam Lambert in Dublin earlier this year and they were absolutely phenomenal.

Until about 6 weeks ago I deeply regretted never having seen Elton John live and we were thinking about flying out to Vegas to see him but obviously that was going to be very expensive. But then he announced his U.K. farewell tour dates and we have tickets for The Hove gig next summer.

starfleet · 09/11/2018 13:27

Beastie Boys are the ones I really wish I'd been able to see live.

Reading some of the posts up thread - I have seen George Michael, Soundgarden, The Stone Roses (in 1988 and a couple of the more recent shows) , Prince (early 90's) and Blur (around 1993 ish).

LoniceraJaponica · 09/11/2018 13:27

Queen and Pink Floyd

I saw Michael Jackson at Roundhay Park in Leeds back in 1992 when he was doing his Dangerous tour.

While I like to see the big names I just don't like the huge venues.

AdoreTheBeach · 09/11/2018 13:30

I wish I went to Live Aid.

CMOTDibbler · 09/11/2018 13:30

I would have loved to have seen Aerosmith in their prime

Loonoon · 09/11/2018 13:31

rugbychick1 I was lucky enough to see ABBA pn their only ever U.K. tour (not counting their Eurovision appearance in Brighton). A good friend won tickets to the Royal Albert Hall by entering a competition in a national paper and her mum took us both. It was my first ever concert and it was incredible. I just googled the set list - what a night!

twoheaped · 09/11/2018 13:36

Saw Queen, with Freddie, twice and Michael Jackason. Also saw INXS (on same bill as Queen).
For me, I would love to have seen The Doors and Amy Winehouse.

GoldenBuns · 09/11/2018 13:37

TheVonTrappFamilySwingers - yes, I hear it was a good show! Grin

Cocolepew · 09/11/2018 13:59

Elvis
The Rolling Stones.
Abba.
Talking Heads Stop Making Sense tour too.
The Doors.
The Staple Singers.
Otis Redding.
Marvin Gaye.

I saw Nirvana (and was backstage) I wasn't overly impressed tbh Grin
Also saw Prince 5 times and he was utterly amazing .

gastropod · 09/11/2018 13:59

I was lucky to see Nirvana at Reading in 1991 and 1992 - the 1991 show was awesome, quite early in the day's lineup, and they brought the house down. 1992 show they were headlining and to be honest it was a big crap. I saw them play a few times (lucky me!) and it definitely wasn't their best gig!

I'd have liked to see the Velvet Underground back in the day.
And the Stone Roses.

gastropod · 09/11/2018 14:00

big bit crap

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 09/11/2018 14:02

No doubt,en vogue,Aerosmith

nowshesaturtle · 09/11/2018 14:10

I'd love to have seen Eddie and the Hot Rods in their pomp.

I went to see them a couple of weeks ago in a really small venue and it was fab, but Barrie's quite ill now with COPD and about to give up touring. It was a great gig and there was so much love for them - and him - in the room, but he was struggling enough to be quite worrying. I'd love to have seen them all those years ago.

Clawdy · 09/11/2018 14:11

Saw the Beatles, and Bob Dylan, in the 1960s. Wish I'd had the chance to see Elvis.
