Any bands you wish you'd seen in their heyday?

For me it's Queen & Michael Jackson. Listening to Queen a lot before I see Bohemian Rhapsody & they are just so good!

We had tickets to see Michael Jackson just before he died, I was gutted I'll never see him live.

Any others?

Total opposite, I would like to take back seeing Lost prophets when they were big.

Also joy division!

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 09/11/2018 16:17

I was lucky enough to see INXS at the Summer XS at Wembley in 1992 (?) - I actually went because Jesus Jones were also performing. INXS were amazing and I am so grateful I saw them live.
Would love to have seen Elvis

BitOutOfPractice · 09/11/2018 16:22

I saw Queen in 1983 and I'm sorry to say, those who didn't totally missed out!

BasicUsername · 09/11/2018 16:22

Pantera, Queen, LED Zeppelin, David Bowie.

PowerhouseOfTheCell · 09/11/2018 16:22

Not a band but for a few months I was obsessed with Robbie Williams at Knebworth. Oh to have actually been there in the flesh (I was 5 at the actual time)

Pantah630 · 09/11/2018 16:22

Genesis pre 76.

Pink Floyd with Roger and Syd, Pink Floyd with Roger, seen them without them still fab but would have been better with.

Led Zeppelin

Focus with Jan Akkerman

The Doors

StableGenius · 09/11/2018 16:23

The Smiths, who broke up the week I went to university.

I saw everyone else I was interested in at the time.

Jimi Hendrix is my only other regret.

BasicUsername · 09/11/2018 16:23

Oh, and Blondie.

CheeseAndOnionIceCream · 09/11/2018 16:30

I wish I had got to see Thin Lizzy when Gary Moore was still with them (late 70s). I was lucky enough to get to see them 4 times during 1980/1981,when I was 17/18 years old,and they were fantastic. But he is my all-time favourite guitarist and would have loved to have seen them when he was still in the band.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2018 16:34

I saw Queen and Status Quo,

I'd have liked to have seen The Killers about 2002 and Steve Harley in his heyday (I know both still perform but I'd like a time machine)

DGRossetti · 09/11/2018 16:36

I saw Queen and Status Quo

Knebworth '86 ?

Do you remember the legend who climbed to the top of the stage during Quos set Smile ?

TragicRabbit · 09/11/2018 16:38

The Smiths and Prince

I had tickets for both but for separate (infuriating) reasons didn’t get to see either Sad

70isalimit

I saw the killers at V festival in 2004, I'd never heard of them but they were great. Saw them again on a stadium tour probably around 2005 & they were fab.

I love live music, don't get to go as much these days (unless butlins counts Grin)

BikeRunSki · 09/11/2018 16:45

The Stone Roses
Oasis

I was the right age and everything

Thirtyrock39 · 09/11/2018 16:45

I saw nirvana at reading 93 and they were a bit rubbish to be honest - disappointing you could tell they were sick of it
I would have loved to see the smiths

MrsPworkingmummy · 09/11/2018 16:47

David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars and Nirvana.

Crusoe · 09/11/2018 16:51

I saw Quo & Queen at Knebworth in 86. It was one of Quo’s roadies wasn’t it who climbed above the stage. God that was a good day.
I feel so old when other posters say their parents were at LiveAid! I didn’t go but remember it so well.
I’m so old.
This thread has made me realise how many concerts I have been too and I don’t consider myself a concert goer.
Blondie was pretty good, INXS less so.

BishopBrennansArse · 09/11/2018 16:52

Definitely Queen.

Led Zep
Oasis

TinyRick · 09/11/2018 17:27

Hole

TinyRick · 09/11/2018 17:28

Oh and White Zombie
