just moved dds school bag of the settee and a bit of papers slid out, on it it says a due date, possible names and names of godparents.
now this wouldnt normally phase me as id just think it was teenage rambling EXCEPT..... ive been asking myself when shes next due on, as we have been away for 2 weeks and back now around 10 days and shes not been on during that time which got me thinking back to when i last bought her any pads and tbh i cant remember. im thinking around july time which would tie in with the due date wrote down.
shes out at the moment which may be a good thing as i dont know what the fuck to do now!!
please help me by giving some advice

HackAttack
Many children of working parents are home alone for a couple of hours after school at 11. They walk or cycle to friends' houses, go into town and so on from secondary school age. It's easy to see how it could happen.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 06/11/2018 20:10

takes 3 mins to get pregnant

RomanyRoots · 06/11/2018 20:11

I wondered this too, my 14 year old is never allowed on her own with boys at school or home. certainly not in a situation where she could have sex and become pregnant.
As for boy friends I just wouldn't allow it, far too young at 14, look what can happen.

flamingofridays · 06/11/2018 20:12

romany how would you know if she was on her own with a boy? As for not allowing boyfriends... good luck with that.

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 06/11/2018 20:13

Op, I am sure you will but please reassure her that you love her and will stand by her and help her... or laugh when she tells you it was some phone app predictive thing!

katseyes7 · 06/11/2018 20:14

Audreyhelp · 06/11/2018 20:16

We don’t even know she is pregnant yet. Could be a false alarm.

Armchairanarchist · 06/11/2018 20:16

To those saying their fourteen year olds aren't allowed to be alone with a boy. A close friend of mine fathered a child aged 15, conceived in a broom cupboard at school.

RedPandaMama · 06/11/2018 20:17

@RomanyRoots my mum used to say the same thing. I used to have sex with my boyfriend in a field walking home from school. My friends used to do it in the school toilets. Horny teenagers will do it if they want to, ideally be supportive and promote contraception and safe sex in a safe place. Much rather it be under my roof than somewhere else.

KitKat1985 · 06/11/2018 20:17

I hope the chat with your DD goes okay OP and that she's able to be honest with you. Flowers

mumof2sarah · 06/11/2018 20:17

Hand hold OP. You sound like a wonderful mum and I'm sure what ever the outcome your daughter has a wonderful support system xx

katseyes7 · 06/11/2018 20:17

Some people seem to be extremely naïve about teenagers and their hormones - 'not allowing' boyfriends or 'never allowing' their daughters to be alone with boys - did your parents know every thing that you did when you were a teenager? Mine certainly didn't, and l was very well behaved compared to a lot of my friends.
And it certainly doesn't take long to get pregnant - with some teenage boys who are overexcited, two pumps and a squirt, at the risk of tmi….

Good luck when you speak to your DD. You sound a wonderful mother. Xx

I would never force someone into a termination. However I would paint an extremely frank, blunt and honest picture of what my child would be facing.

Emotionally, physically and financially.
How they would not have much of a social life as my days getting up with newborns are over. How if they stay under my roof they stay in education. How nappies are expensive so they will get a job.

Knitwit101 · 06/11/2018 20:18

Good luck op. I hope your chat goes smoothly tonight. You must be anxious.

You have no idea what your 14 yr old is doing when your eyes are not on her. I guarantee it.

RainbowsArePretty · 06/11/2018 20:19

Good luck OP Thanks

katseyes7 · 06/11/2018 20:20
