They are dry, cracked and bloody sore.

Vaseline with aloe vera aint doing anything, if anything they feel worse.

What do you use/recommend?

burts bees lip balm works for me.

you could also try spreading honey on your lips (you want a thick layer- but not so thick that its dripping down your face) and then cover it with cling film. leave for 15 minutes, wipe off and apply lipbalm. you can do this once a week

the cold doesn't help does it?

Another vote for the burts bees. I like the minty tingle, too.

timeforachangemethinks · 03/11/2018 18:26

Clinique do one called something like pep overnight mask, best thing I’ve ever used! My son gets that thing gat children get when they lick all round their mouths in winter so it was all red and chapped all round his mouth, I put him some of this on and it totally cleared it overnight. I use it during the day too

Esspee · 03/11/2018 18:27

Another vote for Carmex.

explodingkitten · 03/11/2018 18:27

Blistex is the only thing that works for me.

Tr1skel1on · 03/11/2018 18:30

The original chapstick with the black label, none of the fruity ones. Works wonders

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/11/2018 18:32

The vaseline with cocoa butter is better than the aloe vera

Holidayshopping · 03/11/2018 18:33

Nuxe-it’s magic!

BlankTimes · 03/11/2018 18:35

Make your own.

In a pyrex measuring jug, Melt 1 part beeswax
Neils Yard organic is fine if you can't get one from a beekeeper, not impressed with the stuff from ebay.
Then add 2 parts extra virgin olive oil when the beeswax is fully melted. It solidifies a little so wait until it's all melted, stir well and add the liquid from 1 or 2 capsules of Vitamin E, stir again.

Pour into sterilised glass containers.

MustBeThin · 03/11/2018 18:35

Nuxe ultra nourishing lip balm, the jar costs about £10 but lasts me probably 5 or 6 months even though I apply it a few times a day.

Drogonssmile · 03/11/2018 18:36

Lansinoh lanolin nipple balm. Bloody brilliant for chapped lips. Still use it now and haven't breast fed for over two years.

Troton · 03/11/2018 18:37

Blistex Classic lip protector. Blue with white label. Best stuff I’ve ever used

Stressedoverkids · 03/11/2018 18:37

Another vote for Carmex here. However if you can afford Clarins lip oil it's really helped me.

ThisIsWhatItSoundsLike · 03/11/2018 18:38

Dr dans corti lip balm (amazon) more expensive than most but worth every penny

Tortadellanonna · 03/11/2018 18:38
