Baked beans in Cottage pie

Do you?

I love beans in cottage pie, one of my DC hates it, so I always ended making them a smaller separate one.

Just wondered how many others do add them in.

@AnnaMagnani

OMG No. Beans are barely a foodstuff and definitely not an ingredient.

Beans are barely a foodstuff???? Hmm

(I bet you don’t think peanut butter is a foodstuff either Grin)

Need to make two today.

One with beans, one without.

Baked beans go in
Cottage pie
Chilli
Bolognaise
Lasagne

In this house.

And if they are Heinz can be eaten cold as well.

I do, along with the usual carrots and peas but it’s a meal I only make for the kids and my Mum when she’s babysitting so I don’t have to actually eat it!

If you want to bulk out bolognese/cottage pie etc or make it lighter, a handful of red lentils is fine and barely detectable. Baked beans, however, spoil both the flavour and the texture.
