Cg came to collect his van early this morning (I didn't see him though) and put a card through the door. I think yesterday was a one off, it was sort of the climax of a few factors coming together, but it was really good fun. And I hope that, as mentioned, they're more than builders now, ie on the way to being friends.
I'm trying really hard not to overstep any marks though, it just has so much potential to go wrong. I really appreciated cg coming to the neighbours with me yesterday (and he said afterwards that he'd found it difficult seeing me so upset). It's lovely having that feeling again that someone has your back? He seems to be a very kind genuine man. I need to be sensible, especially as these new problems with neighbours/architect have arisen to cause further complications. Thank you for commiserations re the neighbours, it is horrible especially as we've always got on so well. They said some awful things yesterday that I never would've believed they couid. If ever there was an occasion for gin, that was it!
Do you really want a new thread?! I'm astounded this one has nearly filled up! I love having so many virtual friends but it's not very exciting really, and I don't want you all to be disappointed when the probable outcome will be work finishes:builders leave.
