My dh died this afternoon. Please hold my hand through this.

We have four distraught dc. the police are still here. I don't know what to say to people. I don't know what to ask when they offer to help.

I have read parts of the thread and I am very grateful for the advice and for people who have shared their stories. It is something to know this horrible thing has not just happened to me. ( Selfish I know)

Everyone has gone now and DH has been taken to the mortuary. We have eaten and just sitting together. I have had the hardest conversation with dh's mum. Cannot think about tomorrow.

So sorry OP, for you and your children. Was going to mention Winston's Wish as well. Saw them on a documentary when 2 little girls lost their mum and they were so helpful.

Winstons wish were really good for me dc. They couldn’t come to see us as not enough funding to cover grandparents. However they chatted on the phone and sent us some tools for dc to use. Would certainly recommend them.

Hope you manage to get some rest tonight, if not any sleep.

I lost my Nan 4 weeks ago, we found her on the kitchen floor unconscious. Telling my kids that one of thier favourite people in the world was dead was not something I wish on anyone.

We are all right here for you in a way that others in real life are not.

The loss of a significant loved one in unexpected circumstances creates a haunting grief that never leaves you, as I and others on here know, but for it to be your husband and father of your children must propel you into another world.

You and your children are in my thoughts tonight.
