Must have happened almost straight away

I don't know why everyone assumes they started trying straight after they got married ? They've been in a relationship years

golondrina · 18/10/2018 13:01

What I don't get is people saying she was pregnant when they married, that'd mean she would be a MINIMUM of 5 months pregnant now, which she clearly isn't.

Laiste · 18/10/2018 13:02

I don't think they would have risked a 'shotgun' wedding.

@Laiste oh my goodness, I need to open a window now! Whew! Blush Grin

TheWiseWomansFear · 18/10/2018 13:09

It took a couple of months if she's only 12 weeks. They were married in May and I imagine cracked straight on with it...

Gazelda · 18/10/2018 13:11

What an unpleasant thread. Intrusive to another woman's reproduction. Is nothing sacred?
Very poor taste.

notacooldad · 18/10/2018 13:11

I’ve never got pregnant by accident really
I don't think Meghan has either!

Angelil · 18/10/2018 13:13

@IsTheRainEverComingBack

It's quite a while since I read it so would need to dig around. In the meantime, here's this:

Incidentally there aren't really any drugs that can enhance fertility. If you aren't ovulating then Clomid can be used to induce it, but if you already have a normal cycle all Clomid is going to do is make you feel like shit AND sharply increase the chances of hyperovulation and a dangerously high multiple pregnancy. Nobody in their right mind would try that before giving the old-fashioned way a shot.

They probably just... had sex. There really aren't any fertility secrets that are available only to the wealthy, except for a capacity to pay for more IVF cycles.

toolazytothinkofausername · 18/10/2018 13:33

People always say this about me Angry

Some people just fall pregnant straight away. It happens!

Flobalob · 18/10/2018 14:41

I got pregnant first month at 35 and then second month at age 36.

Dartsplayer · 18/10/2018 14:43

I got pregnant at 35 and 38 within 4 weeks of coming off my contraception. It's not that unusual

Lacey31 · 18/10/2018 16:46

I disagree that there isn't fertility help for the wealthy. When myself and DH were TTC despite not being wealthy we did seek help privately and were given a myriad of things to help get things happening more quickly- DHEA, proxeed, an HSG. All things that show that unless you have underlying fertility issues they can help you conceive more quickly. I'm sure Meghan and Harry were on a concoction of vitamins and drugs. Plus she has no job and can concentrate on her health and well-being with access to the best nutritionists in the world. It's ridiculously naïve to compare them to any other couple in terms of fertility.

It's marvellous timing that the baby will be born around brexit. Keeps the masses occupied

Royal baby will keep the masses distracted

My mum was 34 when she married and I was born 9 months to the day after my parents wedding!! Then again she was a trained midwife, and health visitor!!!

Reminds me why I can't keep away from bonkers slebs threads that randomly pop up on the main boards every now and again.
Conspiracy theories and all that. Talking of theories, this thread now playing into mine that any thread on MN will eventually be dragged into a tenuous Brexit or trans link. Grin
As if you could time your pregnancy that exact anyway.
People get married and have babies straight away. We did. It happens. As someone upthread said though, people who do get pregnant as soon as they start trying tend to keep it quiet.
2 months for us first time (married in the August, pregnant by Oct) Took us literally a matter of weeks a few years later when wanted baby no 2.
Both only ever tried twice for a baby and both times straight away.
Not a huge leap to think other people getting married catch on so quickly to pregnancy.

VerbeenaBeeks · 19/10/2018 00:34

@toolazytothinkofausername exactly, I'm the same!

SecretWitch · 19/10/2018 00:39

I became pregnant on first try at age 32, 35, 40 Andy 42. All pregnancies were healthy. Not shocking for a woman living in a country with access to excellent health care.

The fake astonishment over a royal pregnancy is getting pretty old.

daftyburd · 19/10/2018 00:47

Boyfriend and I had ran out of condoms. Chanced it just once and I was pregnant with my first child at 37.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 19/10/2018 00:59

At 29 I took a year to catch DS1. Then got knocked up with DC2 by carelessness when ending breastfeeding. Next 3 pregnancies conceived at first attempt, including DC4, who was the result of a jolly night down the pub with everyone telling us how amazing our older three were, resulting in a moment of madness when we got home. In the sober light if day, I decided that at 41, I really needn't bother with the MAP. I got that wrong.

I think if you are healthy, with no fertility issues, it's pretty quick.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 19/10/2018 01:19

Brexit Mountbatten-Windsor, has quite a ring to it methinks Grin

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 19/10/2018 02:44

So what? Lots of people fall pregnant easily as you can see on this thread. I was 32 and for some reason thought it would take me six months or so. Nope, as soon as I came off the pill I was up duffed within a month.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/10/2018 03:06

Well it’s no surprise, they’ve both said they want kids, she’s 37; they’re both fit and healthy. She’s probably had every medical check up prior to getting married.
No.2 will be on its way just as quickly.
I hope they have lots of babies. Harry will be a great Dad.
