Lambrusco! White, rose and red. I had to get a bottle for nostalgia's sake. (And its 2.95 a bottle) It was the pre alcho pop fizzy drink of choice. And the red was more sophisticated (ha, who am I kidding?)
Any other long lost drinks that scream big hair and shoulder pads?

What was that Pernod/black currant alcopop called??
God I used to love it. Was it Hex?
Does anyone remember it?
Brown over bitter anyone? It's probably a northern thing.

AdaColeman · 14/10/2018 20:52

Tequila Sunrise anyone? Wine

Mijkl · 14/10/2018 20:53

Taboo/ Mirage advert! m.youtube.com/watch?v=eRD-vQa7JB8

CherryValance · 14/10/2018 20:54

It was 'Mirage or Taboo - which one are you?'

maggienolia · 14/10/2018 20:55

Anyone remember a combination known a a Purple Nasty? It was DBs drink of choice, think it was snakebite and blackcurrant.
I survived student days on cheap cider. Gives me heartburn now.

ToadOfSadness · 14/10/2018 20:55

When I saw the thread title I thought you have found out where Pru Leith buys her clothes.

Walkacrossthesand · 14/10/2018 20:56

I raise you Noilly Prat 🍸

Atalune · 14/10/2018 20:56

Long vodka if I was out
Castaways or diamond white, maybe blush if I was feeling fancy when I was drinking in a park.
Always whilst being absolutely drenched in Loulou by Cacharel.

I think I might have gotten Exclamation! That Christmas from my boyfriend and I got him Jazz. So classy.

chipsandpeas · 14/10/2018 20:57

castaway and diamond white mixed was great at 18

AviatorShades · 14/10/2018 20:58

Thunderbird for getting ratarsed, Black Tower for that hint of sophistication Grin

Atalune · 14/10/2018 20:59

chips yes!! Omg and the state I would find myself in!

Rudgie47 · 14/10/2018 20:59

Cherry Bs, I think these were from the early 80s and I remember being very ill after drinking a lot of them. They were in small bottles and were like a fizzy cherry wine.
Blue Nun wine.
Martini rose
Taboo and Mirage.
Southern Comfort and lemonade.

Cider and Blackcurrant.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/10/2018 20:59

Pernod and lemonade, tasted like with a kick!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/10/2018 21:00

*tasted like Sherbet with a kick!

idiotical · 14/10/2018 21:00

I see some of us mention it now, but was was Thunderbird?
Some sort of fortified wine perhaps?

MissCharleyP · 14/10/2018 21:01

Worked in a pub early 2000’s - still had people who drank brown bitter, 50/50, ‘mixed’ and twilight.

Taboo and lemonade was a personal favourite, a Chinese place near us still has it!

I also remember Metz, made you feel like you’d sucked on a jay cloth. Castaway, Hooch...used to start off with lager & lime as a skint student!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/10/2018 21:02

I raise you Noilly Prat 🍸

Can you still get that, @Walkacrossthesand?

BonnieF · 14/10/2018 21:02

Yes, it was Taboo and Mirage. Nobody liked Mirage, though. In the bars I worked in Taboo outsold it by at least 10 to 1.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 14/10/2018 21:03

Snakebite or green witch

Boyskeepswinging · 14/10/2018 21:04

This takes me back. One of my favs was Cider and Babycham.

PositivelyPERF · 14/10/2018 21:04

Blue nun wine 🍷 for the ‘sophisticated’ amongst us. 😳

Katedotness1963 · 14/10/2018 21:04

One night the pub ran out of pineapple juice and that was when we came up with Malibu and Appletise.

Mateus Rose.

Babycham and cider was lethal!

NormaLouiseBates · 14/10/2018 21:05

Wasn't a diamond white and a castaway called a Blastaway? Grin

Anyone remember K cider? In a black bottle. I thought I was the proper knees of the bees with that lol...

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 14/10/2018 21:06

I love cinzano and still drink it, over ice with lemonade and a slice of lemon, lovely. Any one remember Pony “the little drink with a big kick”
