Morning owls

I’m sitting on the beach with dh and dc. We were up at 7am this morning and on our way to the beach 🏖🏖 as the nearest one is a couple of hours drive away from us and we wanted to beat some of the traffic and get a good beach spot

Becca19962014 · 01/06/2019 12:51

I'm not sat on a beach I'm sat under a fan it's 21c here today. I struggled to get my meds and shopping. I'd no idea it was so hot as we've barely any sun. There's zero wind/breeze which is unusual for here being near the sea, it feels like there's no air. See I said it was stupid.

Am getting very down about how limited my life has become, days like this where I struggle even more mean I feel even worse.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 01/06/2019 15:01

Have a hot sugary doughnut, they are lovely. Never taste the same when not at the beach do they? Me and youngest ds have come to the coffee shop for some shade, he was getting a bit grumpy I think he gets a bit frustrated as the other 2 can do more than he can. They don’t have a massive age gap but it’s surprising the differences in what they can do.

At least you have a fan Becca I don’t think flats help in the heat when I lived in flats I have always found they get hotter than a house (sounds daft I know) Try and stay cool

Becca19962014 · 01/06/2019 15:15

Fans just push hot air around though don't they?!

Becca19962014 · 01/06/2019 21:42

It's got over 25c here today.

Right now it's over 23c inside - 20 outside but obviously flat holding warmth.

No wonder I've been feeling unwell. I'd no idea it had got so hot. The local "official" weather station is several degrees lower.

It's supposed to be cooler with wind tomorrow but am genuinely scared we're in for a hot summer again like last year.

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 01/06/2019 23:26

It was hot here as well today. I don't do hot

I had lots to do today, in the end I managed to get to the pharmacy 5mins before it closed to collect my meds (GP has just upped my psych meds so had to get new dosage ones). Collected a dolls house this afternoon that I bought through the local Facebook marketplace thing. Other than that I've just been sitting inside watching box sets. It's DD's birthday party next weekend so I've wrapped the pass the parcel up for that. Not really achieved much of my massive to-do-list though.

Hope it's cooler in everyone's tree branches now it's night time

Becca19962014 · 02/06/2019 10:17

It's raining here Grin hoping it's cool enough for me to wear my summer jacket as I need to go get everything I couldn't yesterday today.

Down to 20c inside now. My main window was broken some years ago so no longer opens, out of three only a small one actually opens. It's rediculous. Having said that I have one which does so I'm grateful for that.

Morning owls

I’ve had a sad morning I went to let Pinkrabbit out of her hutch for the day and she had died Sad I’ve buried her in the garden. I’m heartbroken, who knew you could sob so much for a rabbit.

Becca19962014 · 03/06/2019 14:06
Sad
Mummylin · 03/06/2019 21:33

Oh Pink I am sorry to read your sad news. Animals make a little nest in your heart don't they.
I have had another chest infection, but not too bad now.
Have just had a visit from my step niece ( the actress ) and I have now met her partner, and her baby. They are leaving here tomorrow, but in Uk for a month.

Sorry to hear you've been ill lin glad you're on the mend now though!

PinkHeartLovesCake · 04/06/2019 11:20

Morning Owls

Lin Animals certainly do, when they are gone you miss the way they are always there for you. Sorry you’ve been ill again, you do suffer with chest don’t you. Did you watch Love Island last night?

Just have my weekly call with Mum from France and she said she now has diabetes. She’s been having a lot of liver trouble lately, which has involved a lot of tests and now she’s got diabetes too. It seems everything health wise has hit her at once!

Mummylin · 04/06/2019 11:25

I haven't watched it yet, but I have set the bid to record the whole series, may be able to catch up with it later. Dh dosent watch it, so I used to watch it after he had gone to bed, or if he had gone to the pub I would watch the " live " version. Did you watch it !
Couldn't watch it last night as we had visitors, including a baby who had a big whinge !
That's a blow for your mum, hope they soon sort out her medication.

I hope your mum can get some good support in France pink I assume type 2, which I am.

To be honest I really struggle with it and, anxiety around it (which doesn't help as anxiety can effect blood sugars as well!) Good support/help is vital. Nothing much here for type 2 except lectures about doing it to yourself and stop stuffing your face with sweets, just eat veg/fruit and you'll be cured (which isn't true - there is no cure, you can maintain blood sugars healthily but not cure diabetes!) all the time Hmm. It can be genetic so don't forget to let your GP know (they'll do an annual blood test).

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 04/06/2019 22:54

Oh Pink I am so sorry to hear your news. I shall give my table an extra good dose of furniture polish in her honour tomorrow. Animals really do take up extraordinary amounts of space in your heart for their size.

It chucked it down here today. Poor DS was on a school trip and I forgot to pick his coat. I also made him a peanut butter & cheese sandwich without thinking that I then had to take home again because it's a nut free school - doh! I know this. And I couldn't even take it in to work as that's but-free too. Note to self: don't make packed lunches until fully awake Blush

My work is in the news at the moment due to a member of staff being arrested. It's shocked us all. The situation is sickening.

Becca19962014 · 04/06/2019 22:56

curtains that sounds hard. I hope you're doing ok.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 05/06/2019 15:45

Yes it’s type 2 Mum has Becca Think she’s just over whelmed with all the information at the moment. Mil has it too but with mil it was more age related and her diet etc didn’t need to change much as she ate pretty healthy already. My mum isn’t even 50 yet and I fear a big diet changes will need to happen.

Curtain It’s not nice when someone you’ve worked with is arrested for something horrible (not that any crime is good, but some things are worse than others) I had a waitress job while at uni and the owner was a bit touchy with the girls (stoking your arm/hair that kind of thing) bit of a perv but harmless or so I thought. A year after I left he was sent to prison for something he done to one of the other waitresses, made shocking reading it in the local paper.

I am just going to sit and watch it now Lin I haven’t had time until know.

Becca19962014 · 06/06/2019 14:23

Best advice is to gradually change her diet. Changing it quickly can cause a lot of problems. It takes longer to get under control that way, but is safer than risking hypoglaecemia attacks. It's hard when you've multiple conditions.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 06/06/2019 22:48

I had no rabbit to lick my freshly polished table today 😭 I’ve cleaned her hutch today and put it on a free stuff website, it’s a luxury hutch and hopefully another rabbit can enjoy it. I miss Pinkrabbit sitting on my lap, she loved tv in the evening.

Ah yes Becca Mum did say the advice was not to change everything immediately. They also say she has non alcoholic fatty liver disease, thing is Mum is a few pounds overweight but not obese by any stretch of the imagination, admittedly she doesn’t have the best diet but fatty liver disease makes no sense to me.

Becca19962014 · 06/06/2019 22:55

Sad whatll I do for sneaky cuddles behind the sofa? Sad

It's good she has some good advice, the NHS was very much change everything NOW. Idiots. Lot of things can cause fatty liver including various meds, they just don't mention that - long term use of paracetamol at 8 a day can cause it for example or combinations of some meds.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 06/06/2019 23:11

I know the lack of cuddles is sad, and the dc keep asking for her I lost count of the amount of times oldest ds has said “Where is Pinkrabbit?” today

My parents are lucky in France the health services are very good (one of the reasons they retired out there) Mum has taken a lot of paracetamol over the years she has suffered with on going pain after her hysterectomy when my brother was born (hysterectomy was the only way to save mum due to complications with the c section) , knee pain since an accident.

Becca19962014 · 06/06/2019 23:51
Sad

Maybe the meds are why for her then.
Struggling to rest tonight. Going to try now though.

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 07/06/2019 00:01

Paracetamol can do terrible things to you long-term. Might have had a factor in it.

I can't rest either. Watching Brian cox present Holst's planets. Well, I'm not really listening, it's just on. It's calming. I have work tomorrow. It's going to be busy. The newspaper article about colleague is terrible. As yet I don't feel that work have announced it and explained it properly. We have been briefed that we're not allowed to talk to anyone about it Hmm No support has been offered for those who might find this difficult to deal with.

More party prep for DD's on Sunday. Can't believe she will be 5! But also the first birthday I won't be spenind with her as she is out for the day on Saturday with Daddy. It's going to be hard.

Becca19962014 · 07/06/2019 10:32

I dropped off eventually and woke early and moved on my side - I fell yesterday and, stupidly fell asleep on the side I fell onto!

That's difficult with the article, you'd think given the so-called enlightened times for mental health they'd offer some support!

Becca19962014 · 07/06/2019 10:39

People don't understand how bad paracetamol is, they think it's over the counter must be fine..
