I assumed they wanted to talk about me struggling so much not that they were cancelling. Receptionist said they wanted the time to enjoy the nice weather we're currently having.

Mummylin · 13/05/2019 15:49

Hope you will get some advice from forum Becca that's terrible that you have been let down by social workers ! How do they have a job if this is how they treat people who are vulnerable ! Shocking.

I just don't see how what they wrote could be construed as letting me know they'd cancelled my appointment. I get that's necessary sometimes but knowing its for annual leave because of the weather being nice is really hurtful. I know the receptionist wouldn't have seen the email I sent about how much I'm struggling but the social worker definitely did.

Mummylin · 13/05/2019 16:16

It's disgusting Becca , is there anywhere you can put a complaint in ?

Becca19962014 · 13/05/2019 17:03

I daren't complain the last resulted in me being lectured about being in the way and stealing appointments for others as I'm "fine really". It's why I no longer seek support from anyone in crisis - they put an informal block on it, literally left appointment with me to go tell staff not to speak to me under any circumstances, and told me under no circumstances to ring between appointments.

My GP urged me to seek support on Thursday and I didn't because of tomorrow. I feel so stupid.

Becca19962014 · 13/05/2019 17:05

That wasn't my social worker but their manager.
This happened a couple of weeks ago when struggling as well.

Mummylin · 13/05/2019 21:12

So who exactly are s meant to be helping you ? Anyone ? I can't believe that the powers that be can be so lacking in all departments. It's terrible.

Becca19962014 · 13/05/2019 21:24

This one social worker is helping and to be fair they are trying. BUT managers telling me I'm wasting people's time/being unfair means I'm not asking for help and things like last night end up happening and I'm in crisis alone with nowhere to turn (makes it even worse).

Ive an appointment for later in the week. It looks like the email explaining got lost (feel awful now for slagging them off).

Becca19962014 · 13/05/2019 21:28

And my already bad trust issues are much much worse since that incident. I know they (complaint managed person) told staff not to help me because a staff member I know outside of work told me she was disgusted.

Mummylin · 13/05/2019 21:45

Let's hope that your apt this week will help you in some way at least. I don't know how you cope Becca getting knocked back at every turn. And people being so rude. Really you are a ⭐️

Hopefully.

I guess it's to do with my faith though that's taking a battering as well. I do my best but am at absolute maximum (and breaking point) at the moment and people assume I can do so much more if I would just try - theyve no idea how hard it is just to do what I do. How do you explain something like that?

Thankyou for letting me vent at you, I appreciate it. I'm sorry for being a misery. I did do well getting out today and getting some food in at least and I even went into the shop where that woman who likes to be abusive works.

Mummylin · 13/05/2019 22:35

At least you did something positive today Becca. That is good and we know you like to eat ( especially cake ) 🍩 ( do-nut with chocolate on it )

Morning owls

I’ve got my sunshine back! Me and the dc have already been to the park for a walk today, we were pretty much the only ones there. Back home now, we’ve got my friend and her dc coming over for a garden picnic at lunch time.

Hope your all ok

I had a very upsetting appointment this morning, I can't put details on here. I'm back now but feeling beaten by my emotions.

PinkHeartLovesCake · 15/05/2019 14:36

Oh Becca Sorry you’ve had an upsetting appointment

It could have been much much worse (I'll send you a PM and you'll understand). So whilst it wasn't great it was probably as good as it could be give the circumstances.

HerRoyalFattyness · 16/05/2019 08:22

Morning. Whats everyone up to today?
I'm stuck in work instead of enjoying the lovely weather.

Becca19962014 · 16/05/2019 10:27

Go to go shopping... Hoping to get a few days worth of food so don't need to get much over weekend (famous last words!)

PinkHeartLovesCake · 25/05/2019 11:38

Morning owls

How are you all?

Had a busy time here the last week or so. All is a bit calmer now and I’ve got dh home for a long weekend due to the bank holiday 😃

We have a bbq tonight for our friends as we do every year on this weekend, meat has just been delivered. DH is currently alcohol shopping so me and the dc are going to get on with the dessert making and will do some salads for the weirdos that eat green stuff

Becca19962014 · 25/05/2019 12:56

Am looking forward to yummy pink desserts behind the sofa later Grin

Things same here.
