All those who won’t eat pork because of ethical reasons - are you vegans? If not then

I eat meat and enjoy bacon but I only buy free range and British as with all my meat. Yes it costs a lot more but as a family we just eat less. Has anyone noticed that the vast majority of pork esp gammon joints in supermarkets is no longer British?

One of my secret pleasures used to be a Waitrose Caff Bacon Roll with a Black Americano.

Firstly they stopped the free coffee to Waitrose Card holders. That put the price for the whole combo up to £5.50 from £3.50.

Snuck in today to find the Bacon Roll has gone up to £3.75 and they have cut down from 3 rashers to 2 and no longer have wholemeal rolls available.

Yes. Am also in Germany and the Edeka stuff is not a pinch on the real thing (Sorry Banana) - that one and Aldi sometimes do an English style one which are slightly better than the American Style you can also get, but none are like the bacon you get back home. We are genuinely considering bringing loads back frozen :)

I’m a half assed vegan. But still think that’s better than nothing. I think it’s currently called being “Flexitarian”.

I'm vegan in the week, have a bit of dairy here and there. Why? Are you suggesting if you're not going to go vegan there's not point being veggie? Bit negative isn't it? Surely it all helps?

Black treacle cure from Bolster moor farm in huddersfield is very good. The pap from supermarkets, not so much.

Cutting down on meat at any level is good for health, animal welfare and the environment (in my opinion). The vegan argument is so baseless and tired.

Only if it’s not too thick cut not too fatty and very well cooked. Can’t stand thick chewy pale greasy bacon.

Yes but now I'm vegetarian so I don't get to eat it the more burned and crispy the better!

Yes, live it in a white bread sandwich. Must be dry cured, free range, like smoked and unskilled, but the fat must be crispy.
