OP posts:
youngestisapsycho · 08/10/2018 23:16

I like bacon... but for breakfast or sandwich I prefer sausage.

GinaCarbonara · 08/10/2018 23:17

Yes. All bacon. Any bacon. Bacon.

PickAChew · 08/10/2018 23:17

Yep.

Sympathy on the speck. I was served that by a host family as a teenager in the 80s (so before we got pish continental hams, here) and was quite put out, at first, at the idea of raw bacon.

Heismyopendoor · 08/10/2018 23:17

Yes from me and yes from my DH

oldsewandsew · 08/10/2018 23:19

No. The smell is absolutely revolting! I never can understand its appeal to so many people.

yorkshireyummymummy · 08/10/2018 23:20

Yes - LOVE IT.
But it’s got really expensive for decent bacon ( can’t stand all the white crap that comes out of cheap salty over processed bacon)
I only like a dry cure.

So , now I make my own. It’s bloody fab and costs pennies more than the base cost of the pork loin/belly pork.
It just means that whenever friends / family come round they all want a bacon sandwich!!

WTBE · 08/10/2018 23:22

Do bears shit in the woods!!

I love bacon GrinGrin

BonnieF · 08/10/2018 23:26

Yes, in a bacon & egg sandwich on fresh bloomer from the bakery in the village on a Saturday morning.

L238 · 08/10/2018 23:30

Genuinely not fussed - I find it overly salty as a breakfast food. Don’t mind it in stuff e.g. in a pasta dish

tigercub50 · 08/10/2018 23:31

Yes although the last time I had it almost put me off. It was streaky smoked which I usually love but it was a little undercooked & quite stringy - not good 😞

SleepingBooty · 08/10/2018 23:33

Love it but must be smoked and crispy.

Armchairanarchist · 08/10/2018 23:35

I can't eat solid food. The only thing I miss is a crispy smoked bacon sandwich made with white bread and proper butter.

PsychedelicSheep · 08/10/2018 23:36

Am a vegetarian so not for me! Even when i did eat meat I thought it was overrated. Smells better than it tastes.

All processed pork is kind of disgusting when you really think about it 🤢

RustyBear · 08/10/2018 23:37

Unsmoked streaky and very crisp

BackforGood · 08/10/2018 23:37

and continuing the theme... Is the Pope a Catholic?

Of course I like bacon. Don't mind smoked or not. Just can't be doing with fat on meat though, so none of that streaky nonsense.

ThorsMistress · 08/10/2018 23:38

Yes 🥓

luckycat007 · 08/10/2018 23:48

Like the smell but not the taste.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/10/2018 23:50

Yes.

squishee · 08/10/2018 23:55

Yes. Yes I do. Esp. thick cut Danish unsmoked green back bacon like you can get in the UK.

Banana have you tried Bacon nach englischer Art from Edeka?

Orlandointhewilderness · 08/10/2018 23:58

God yes. farm shop near us does rare breed, home reared black treacle bacon. it is like nothing i've ever tasted before.

SerenDippyEggs · 08/10/2018 23:59

Yessssss

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 08/10/2018 23:59

Yes.

ColinsVeryJolly · 09/10/2018 00:02

Yes!

But I only like it with the fat all cut off which means it’s a big old fuss and I use most of the pack just for me so I don’t bother cooking it very often.

AwdBovril · 09/10/2018 00:08

Yes. But only the good stuff. I'd sooner go without than eat the cheap stuff. And it's got to be a little bit crispy.

And I like the crackling. Our high street butcher does proper bacon. With rind. Cured locally.

zen1 · 09/10/2018 00:10

Yes, but only if it’s unsmoked and crispy.
