In the 50s, when my Mum came to this country from Ireland, people who could afford to travel back home always brought bacon with them on their return to England. Something to look forward to, eh?

NonaGrey · 09/10/2018 09:35

No

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 09/10/2018 09:57

Blueeyesbengal is your mum Pam from gavin and Stacey Wink

Bloody love bacon (I love processed pork in all forms, it’s delicious). DDad Recently bought some outdoor reared, pigs kept in wonderful conditions, farm reared, smoked maple bacon from a farm shop that was something mad like £1.75 a slice and unfortunately I can now never eat any other bacon because it’s fucking incredible

Notjustanyone · 09/10/2018 09:59

Yes & so does my dh.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 09/10/2018 10:03

Nooooo. Even when I ate meat i couldn’t stand it. In fact, I never ate anything from a pig!

Orlandointhewilderness · 09/10/2018 20:58

ihopeyousteponalegopiece that sounds like the stuff we get! i'm a real bacon snob now. i am always very picky with the meat i get - has to be high welfare, free range, local, had a holiday recently! the taste is so much better. DP and i went to see some friends recently and got very excited as they were doing bacon sandwiches. oh dear - they get cheap bacon. it was vile!

dudsville · 09/10/2018 21:00

No, I love pigs, all sorts of pigs. They are fabulous creatures. Before I really understood how bacon got to me though I did like it, not the smell though.

NotMyCircusMonkeys · 09/10/2018 21:06

Bacon is amazing. Along with cheese. Bacon and cheeeeese Grin

RrreCansada · 09/10/2018 21:07

As much as I love animal abuse.

redsummershoes · 09/10/2018 21:11

hate the stuff.
it stinks!

maddiemookins16mum · 09/10/2018 21:24

Yep but it has to crispy and not flaccid.

Parttimewasteoftime · 09/10/2018 21:25

Yes.... Love it

Rumboogie · 09/10/2018 21:26

No. Even the smell is unpleasant

NanTheWiser · 09/10/2018 21:44

Pancetta's even better. From Waitrose.

AGHHHH · 09/10/2018 22:01

I love bacon.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 09/10/2018 22:02

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

Crunchymum · 09/10/2018 22:08

I don't mind it every now and again as long as I cook it (I do it with my version of a fry up or in a roll) but I have no great love for it, would never order it whilst out (I rarely go to cafes of eat breakfast out mind) and it's not something I'd ever want as part of my evening meal.

That said when I was pregnant with DC2 I was addicted to the Pret bacon brioche roll. I used to take the bacon out prior to eating and cut the fat off but I did adore it. Haven't touched one since though!!

TuMeke · 09/10/2018 22:12

Nope.

Admittedly I’m vegan, but even when I was a meat eater I didn’t like it. I was veggie for years before shifting to veganism, and I could never understand people who said they’d go veggie too but the smell of bacon dragged them back to meat! To me it smells like a wet dog Smile

I did like bacon crisps though Wink

purplecorkheart · 09/10/2018 22:15

Yes, ideally in rasher form but it has to be smoked

PurpleDaisies · 09/10/2018 22:20

Yes but I’m basically vegan now so I don’t eat it any more.

BleakBetty · 09/10/2018 22:21

Yes, but it has to be fairly crispy.

Norugratsatall · 10/10/2018 13:31

No. Another veggie here.

MistressDeeCee · 10/10/2018 13:32

Yes
