On of the more tame conspiracy therorys my dh states as fact!!

When we were younger apparently there were no trails behind planes. I’m not sure tbh.

What do you believe?

My DH once tried to get me to have a conversation about the flat earth idiocy theories and claimed that 'some of the things they say are interesting'. We had a genuine falling out over it. I get really quite upset when people are that fucking stupid.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2018 19:16

I suppose there might be a philosophical question as to whether infinity (or rather, as OYBBK points out, the many infinities) 'exists'. But that doesn't seem to be what the OPs DH means, and having demonstrated his lack of aptitude in maths, chemistry etc I'm not sure getting him into philosophy would be kind.

redexpat · 09/10/2018 19:16

I think your dh rather overestimates what the British govt is capable of!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2018 19:20

It would make more sense if it was governments in Mediterranean countries controlling British weather - making it unpredictable (and usually bad in August) to persuade us to book holidays abroad.

bullyingadvice2017 · 09/10/2018 19:25

My best friend is into this shite. And I'm getting really increasingly worried about her. No idea what I can do to help but she is obsessed by a guy called Dutch sinse on YouTube who predicts earthquakes. Very scary and I worry for her she is quenuenly so sure it's all true.

ScrambledSmegs · 09/10/2018 20:16

Errol Wait...what? Have the crocodiles driven out the bears?

Actually I believe they're interbreeding. Crocobears Grin

emmeyebea · 09/10/2018 20:21

It's obvious to even a small child that the Earth isn't flat. Go to the seaside with a ruler, hold it in front of you and put the straight edge up to the horizon. Job done.

ruler manufacturers are in on it as well

ThatLibraryMiss · 09/10/2018 20:32

They are [ ... ] controlling us with the chemicals they emit.....

I thought they were controlling us with the microchips they put in vaccines.

Honestly, this is something I was told by a student I'd previously thought to be quite intelligent. I went and had a word with his science teacher after that.

Those chem trails are dihydrogen monoxide.

You need to be careful. It’s everywhere!!

It’s in your food, your drink and too much of it will kill you.

Scary Grin

See!! Look how dangerous it is

In fact, it’s so dangerous, Obama stopped using it to torture criminals. Yet children still drink it Shock

Crocobear in the wild

HopeGarden · 09/10/2018 21:22

Tell him to watch out for the cracks in the pavement too. There are crocodiles in them.

Nonsense.
My 5 yr old reliably informs me that there’s lava in the cracks, not animals.

HopeGarden · 09/10/2018 21:25

Soubriquet Grin Grin Grin

That’s not kind. OPs poor DH might die of thirst if he starts looking at that kind of thing.

Whisky2014 · 09/10/2018 21:26

The problem is people thinking "they" of high up power are more powerful than they really are. They are just people, normal people. There would be no reason or benefit to any of this and also pretty easy to prove.
I couldnt be with someone so stupid though.

NeepNeepNeep · 09/10/2018 21:32

Step on the cracks and the witches will get you Shock

WhollyFather · 09/10/2018 21:38

Does 'when we were younger' cover pre-1945?
Some film of .

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 09/10/2018 21:43

How does he stop tinfoil hat falling off when he ties his shoelaces?

Although this might explain why I still see some people wearing flip flops in December...

ScrambledSmegs · 09/10/2018 21:50

Witches in the cracks? Oh come now, that's just silly.

My 5yo says they're crocodiles and she should know. Her eyes are much closer to the pavement than mine.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2018 21:55

The ignorance of people today... crocodiles, witches, lava fgsHmm

MiddlingMum · 09/10/2018 22:01

It's bears in the cracks. BEARS I tell you. None of these newfangled crocodile things. Trust me, I'm old.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 09/10/2018 22:02

I like that poem Errol, I remember learning it at school. I hope the video clip was it being read by something like a sat nav, because I can't believe a real person could read it with so little emotion!

NeepNeepNeep · 09/10/2018 22:17

Look, I'm not saying the witches are in the cracks. I'm just saying, they'll get you.Confused

LolaTola · 09/10/2018 22:27

Grin Well as they say, you can't argue with stupid.
