Bluntness100 · 28/09/2018 10:46

Merry yes but not drunk

LucyMorningStar · 28/09/2018 10:58

No (DD is 7) and I intend to keep it that way. Alcoholic ex hence I've been put off alcohol for life.

MozzchopsThirty · 28/09/2018 10:59

Yes but not on a regular basis, nye, holidays and football over the summer

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 28/09/2018 10:59

No, I don't drink. They've seen DH have a beer occasionally but only ever one.

5SleepingLions · 28/09/2018 10:59

No and my eldest is 21.

LusaCole · 28/09/2018 11:00

No, I can’t think of an occasion when they have. It’s possible they’ve seen me a bit tipsy once or twice. Eldest is 12.

megletthesecond · 28/09/2018 11:02

No. But I don't drink these days.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 28/09/2018 11:03

No, eldest is 8.

I can't remember ever seeing my Dad more than merry & that was only after I was 17/18 & only around Christmas or New Year. I do remember my Mum dropping me home after spending the Christmas holidays with her one NYD & he had a raging hangover, I was about 10 & thoroughly enjoyed making as much noise as possible Grin

NickyNora · 28/09/2018 11:05

No. My oldest dc is 29.

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 28/09/2018 11:06

Yes. Not falling down drunk but definitely tipsy. We socialise lots and generally DS comes with us.
Unless there are reasons I don't understand why some people make a big deal about drinking in front of kids.

Djnoun · 28/09/2018 11:08

No, never. He's seven.

He's seen me hungover before, but I passed that off as being poorly.

Djnoun · 28/09/2018 11:09

I've never seen my mum drunk either and I'm 34.

TheBlahWitchProject · 28/09/2018 11:13

Sadly yes (DSs 19 & 12). Not proud of it, numerous times. I’m a professional (don’t know why I added that...probably as I’m ashamed and think it justifies it as I earn and provide) and worried I may be a functioning alcoholic. It generally doesn’t interfere with my life during the day but I worry it has maybe had an impact on them.

DMCWelshCakes · 28/09/2018 11:16

Nope. They've seen DH though. I don't drink any more though so it's very unlikely to happen.

I've never seen my parents drunk either and I'm nearly 40.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 28/09/2018 11:20

Sort of.
They've certainly seen us drinking but they're generally asleep before we're properly drunk.
Similar to Blaablaablaa we socialise in the house when they're present.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 28/09/2018 11:20

Dc never saw me have a drink til 18!!
Hangovers +dc not compatible imo.

LucyMorningStar · 28/09/2018 11:27

@BlaaBlaaBlaa I wouldn't get drunk in my child's presence because drunk people are embarrassing and can't make rational judgements. Also should something happen to my child whilst I am drunk with her I would be totally useless.

IchFliegeNach · 28/09/2018 11:27

Laughing, friends round, had one more than is sensible? Yes!
Slurring, scary, out of control? No.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 28/09/2018 11:30

Merry, yes. Our summer holiday was all-inclusive so there were cocktails of an evening. But never "properly" drunk. I haven't been that since before I first got pregnant.

They're 6 and 4.

dArtagnansCrumpet · 28/09/2018 11:31

No they haven't and I hope they never do. I saw my parents absolutely off their trolley drunk every weekend and what I saw has affected me my whole life tbh.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 28/09/2018 11:32

They will see me tipsy sometimes as we only really socialise with the kids in tow - family suppers, BBQs, that sort of thing where I will have more than a glass or two I guess. Probably been actually drunk once at a festival few years ago but with all the music, dancing together and other children around I don't suppose they even noticed. And when I say drunk, I don't mean falling over or anything like that.

They see me drink regularly at home, but that usually means a glass of wine when I'm cooking or sitting down with a drink after dinner. DH doesn't drink so not a huge amount of alcohol is consumed in our house!

Elllicam · 28/09/2018 11:35

No never. They are 5, 4 and 18 months.
