Longest-serving username? PLUS freaky numerological coincidence?

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 12:55

Out of curiosity, I used advanced search on my username to find my first post was back in November 2011. Can anyone beat that - same username used continuously for 7 years?

Now the slightly freaky bit: my first post was at 11:11pm on 10 /11/11 and the thread title referenced something happening 11 years previously. Shock Entirely unintentional! (If I'd planned it, I would have waited for 11/11/11 Grin ). Anyway, these pointless coincidences amuse me.

Proof (the post itself is pretty dull Hmm):

I can't but that's creepy Shock

PurdysChocolate · 26/09/2018 13:25

Off topic but did the thief give you the money in the end?

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 13:41

Purdy - it wasn't my thread, I was just commenting. I can't remember the outcome - if you read the thread, you can let us know!

Totally missing the point about length of service on MN here, but I'm loving the 11/11 thing.
I really enjoy those kind of coincidences. It makes me grin every time I look at the clock at night, doesn't matter if I'm walking past the hallway clock to lock the door or upstairs brushing my teeth, it just so happens to say 22:22. Every single time.
And no, I'm not checking the clock every few minutes to try and catch the 22:22!

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 14:28

Funnily, I sold some shares earlier this year, 111 of them, and now I feel like the number 111 is following me around - I keep seeing it. I know it's just a psychological quirk, but it still amuses me.

Anyway, returning to the other topic of this thread, I was on another thread and saw some familiar names, and found one of them had posts going back to October 2009!.

We'll just have to see if they spot this thread and come to claim the crown.

OP posts:
juneybean · 26/09/2018 15:22

I've had this one since 2007/2008 I think

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 15:45

juney - a quick search shows you in April 2008 , so I'll pass the crown to you.

I'm a regular poster who's been here for years but name change frequently, think this name is a few months old.
Soon be time for a new one Grin

purple8pig · 26/09/2018 17:18

ooh mines a new name, so not been using it that long, but loving all those 11s!! you def should have posted it the day after though Grin

not a coincidence but I like my date of birth , at the risk of id myself, its 22/11/88

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:20

rainbows - there was a thread recently looking for those who have been on MN a long time. This is a niche thread for those who have kept the same username (with a side order of numerology Grin ), so I'm afraid you've ruled yourself out. Sad

(And I understand people's reasons for frequent name-changing - it's just some of us get attached to one once we've been using it a while).

OP posts:
DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:26

What about all those six-year olds with a date of birth of 11/11/11 - that would take some beating. There must be a couple of thousand of them in the UK alone. I suppose 20/02/2002 is pretty good - my son missed that by a few days.

OP posts:
Eowyn · 26/09/2018 17:27

1st posted Sept 2002. Just thought I'd get that in there :)

heymammy · 26/09/2018 17:28

My First post was 27 Jan 2006 - I seem to remember I lurked for aaaaages before finally posting Grin

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:30

Wow, Eowyn. Shock MN was launched in 2000, so unless a MNHQ founder comes on here, I think you're going to win the thread.

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:33

and here's the proof of Eowyn's claim...

My dts were due on 11/12/13. I'm still gutted they were early.
Dd1 has a friend who was born on 03/03/03. That's pretty cool.

Eowyn · 26/09/2018 17:37

Blimey you are efficient! I always think I never post, but I think there are a few hundred out there. It's like an archive of worries long gone....

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:39

It's pretty easy in "Advanced search": just used your username and restricted dates to 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2002.

OP posts:
DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 17:42

Friends have a child born 1/1/10 which makes working out their age very easy - in fact, only 1/1/00 would be easier.

OP posts:
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/09/2018 17:42

My first post was Sept 2003, not under this name though. I think I kept that name for around a decade, and then I changed every couple of months for a while and I think I'm had this one for about four years.

R4 · 26/09/2018 17:43

now I feel like the number 111 is following me around

Careful D3. You know that a nelson is bad luck, don't you?

I was born on 4/7/77. Gutted my mum couldnt have held on another 3 days.
Although when I met my last DP, his alarm code was already 0407 and had been for years.
I have had two entirely randomly assigned work pin numbers that were 4777 (not related to birthdate at all, entirely random and with two different companies) and a bank pin that was 0407.
Disclaimer.....I am no longer with DP, either company or that bank so all of the above is useless to would be fraudsters......

KickAssAngel · 26/09/2018 18:02

Eowyn beats me, by about a year, I think.
