Longest-serving username? PLUS freaky numerological coincidence?

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 12:55

Out of curiosity, I used advanced search on my username to find my first post was back in November 2011. Can anyone beat that - same username used continuously for 7 years?

Now the slightly freaky bit: my first post was at 11:11pm on 10 /11/11 and the thread title referenced something happening 11 years previously. Shock Entirely unintentional! (If I'd planned it, I would have waited for 11/11/11 Grin ). Anyway, these pointless coincidences amuse me.

Proof (the post itself is pretty dull Hmm):

Is this my first one?
On 20 09 in 2009 ....

Spooky!

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 18:07

Wow, Bastard (if I may call you that Smile), you win the crown for freakiest coincidences!

DH and I passed our driving tests on the same day, at the same test centre in 1985. We met in 1990....

MaureenMLove · 26/09/2018 18:15

Think I've been here since 2007 or 2008 btw.

DadDadDad · 26/09/2018 18:16

Wow, Maureen, that's (almost) as good as those stories of couples who met as adults then look through childhood holiday photos of one of them and discover that the other is randomly in the background... Shock

@Autumn2018 - DH and I used to have a thing where whenever we looked at the bedside clock it always said the same time - and, just like you, that time was always 22.22!
Now we use our phones and don’t have a bedside clock anymore, but I still often notice 22.22.

spiderlight · 26/09/2018 18:23

I can't beat Eowyn but I've been using this name since 2006.

QOD · 26/09/2018 18:24

Did I forget to add the photo? 🙄

@BigStripeyBastard - if your mum had held until 7/7/77, you would have been born the day I graduated and also got engaged.

Autumn2018 · 26/09/2018 18:37

Am loving this thread! It feeds some sort of appetite I didn't fully acknowledge exists until now!

rainbowsandsmiles · 26/09/2018 18:50

there was a thread recently looking for those who have been on MN a long time. This is a niche thread for those who have kept the same username (with a side order of numerology grin ), so I'm afraid you've ruled yourself out

Poo. Sad
Oh well Grin

chattingtoaspanishgirl · 26/09/2018 20:20

I can't believe some of you have been here since 2003... I was 4 Grin

spiderlight · 26/09/2018 20:36

chatting I feel ancient now!!

RhythmNBooze · 26/09/2018 20:44

Bloody hell I also always notice 22.22 on the bedside clock Shock

BigStripeyBastard · 26/09/2018 23:55

Yes, Dad, you may call me Bastard. (And there is a sentence I never thought I would have to say....)

Rusty I was born by elective C-section. The woman actually had a choice and failed to give me numerological satisfaction! Although she was born in 44, my eldest brother was born in 66 and I was born in 77. My grand mother died in 88 and my father died in 99. My mother then bucked the trend again by dying in 2010 and not waiting until '11!

Disclaimer, hopefully no one is offended by my flippancy.... we always had a collective dark sense of humour in our family. 😊

RustyBear · 27/09/2018 00:07

DH, his mother and his grandmother were all born on 11th December, with 31 years between each one. Not quite a ‘perfect’ sequence though, as the grandmother was his dad’s mother, not his mum’s.

DadDadDad · 27/09/2018 00:14

I have a colleague at work who has the same birthday as his sister (who is not his twin) and his wife! And (bonus for this thread) that birthday is on the 11th. (In fact, the 11th of this month, so sadly it's become a rather memorable date... Confused ).

@chattingtoaspanishgirl, you can stop that right now. Grin

Anyway, we'll soon have MNetters who will be telling us they were born this century, then we'll all be sorry. Shock

I’ve had the same username since 2008. I have changed it temporarily, and very briefly, for seasonal competitions (Halloween, Easter etc), and once for additional anonymity.

My cousin got married on 10/11/12 at 13:14. The date was a coincidence, the time was deliberate!

chattingtoaspanishgirl · 27/09/2018 08:03

DadDad (Felt slightly funny typing that username Grin), There was someone born in 2000 asking for a gender guess on the pregnancy board recently!

I'm afraid that ship has already sailed Wink

SoupDragon · 27/09/2018 08:11

12/6/2002 was my first post apparently.

SoupDragon · 27/09/2018 08:13

I always feel a happy sense of calm when I wake up in the night at times like 2:22.

Today it was 5:55.

DadDadDad · 27/09/2018 08:48

SoupDragon - I see you on 12 June 2002, so @Eowyn you'll have to hand over the crown.

There will be someone with an earlier date as there are definitely earlier joiners than me still around. I don’t think all of them are the sockpuppet accounts from the founders to make the site look busy!
