The only thing I've ever won was a train set when I was in my 20's.

OP posts:
MrsKiplin · 25/09/2018 22:22

I won letter of the week in Just Seventeen!

Ginger1982 · 25/09/2018 22:24

I won a Gameboy on Maggot Moments in the early 90s!

Zoflorabore · 25/09/2018 22:26

A holiday to Ibiza in 1999. It was a radio phone in competition. I was line 3, line 3 was chosen!

MouseholeCat · 25/09/2018 22:27

$50 on a $1 scratchcard I was given as a Christmas stocking filler.

A weird thing that you put in the fridge to keep your fruits and veg from going off which didn't really work.

DolorestheNewt · 25/09/2018 22:27

About six years ago, I won £5000 on the premium bonds. It was like a miracle. I needed a new car at the time.
At all other times in my life, I am like some kind of winning ticket anti-magnet. But I think I've had my share of luck.

Scoleah · 25/09/2018 22:28

My dad won 15k on Loose Women Competition!

I remember winning a Dolby Cassette player when I was in Junior school for shouting the LoudestGrin

FaFoutis · 25/09/2018 22:31

A pen and pencil set. That's it.
How much have you got in premium bonds if you don't mind me asking Delores? The premium bond woman knocking on my door on the 1st of the month is my main fantasy. Do you just get a cheque in the post for a big, but not top, prize?

tigerlionness · 25/09/2018 22:31

ooh yes, tickets to a concert, loads of free chocolate, lovely skincare products, kids toy vouchers...£250 free booze night in a pub

nothing off the scale but happy with all of that! I don't enter loads of competitions but if I see one that's easy to enter I try here and there...

FaFoutis · 25/09/2018 22:31

Sorry, I meant Dolores.

Chocolatecake12 · 25/09/2018 22:34

I won a high chair from mother and baby magazine and a load of fisher price toys.

I also won an art competition at school when I was 10. I think I won a set of colouring pencils!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 25/09/2018 22:34

I won an Undertones album from Smash Hits when I was 16.

I won a Body Shop makeover and they turned me very orange (DH was most amused.)

And we've won quite a few tickets for things from our local paper.

Also won my writers' group short story competition last year and the poetry competition this year.

We have a lot of premium bonds so we've won a few £25 prizes.

DolorestheNewt · 25/09/2018 22:37

@FaFoutis I don't mind you asking at all. I had £30,000, left to me by DM when she died. You do get a cheque in the normal way (or, presumably, a bank transfer, if you're signed up for it, but basically it's exactly the same as winning £25).

Ariela · 25/09/2018 22:37

When I was about 5 or 6 I won a colouring competition in the lcoal paper, the prize was a cash register with plastic coins. Old fashioned sort, this was the 1960s, you pressed down the keys and the till opened.
I've also won (posh, grandstand) tickets to Hickstead.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 25/09/2018 22:37

A George Foreman grill about 14 years ago at a works do. Still works now

barneymcgroo · 25/09/2018 22:37

A case of gin. Was while I was a student, so most welcome.

GinaCarbonara · 25/09/2018 22:39

I won a spelling bee when I was 13. They gave me a dictionary as a prize, which surely judging by the result I was not in want of one?

FaFoutis · 25/09/2018 22:41

My next wage packet is going straight into premium bonds in that case.

RoseyOldCrow · 25/09/2018 22:41

Top student in my uni graduation year.
I was so proud.
I won a £10 book token. Miserable buggers. And thus the joy of winning was gone.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 25/09/2018 22:47

Fifteen years ago my son won a PSII through a competition in his Beano comic . He also won an iPod from the Arts Council for a story he wrote in secondary school.

Also I don't know if I should admit this but my daughter when a young teen won a pen for Letter of the Week in the Daily Fail.

Youngest daughter won an autographed book from an author's FB page and I won a handmade cotton rabbit from a business page on FB

TheNoodlesIncident · 25/09/2018 22:50

£10 book token? I'd have wanted that! I came fourth in an art competition and got a family pack of Mars bars as a prize. The topic was A Day At The Seaside I think

BrokenFlipflop · 25/09/2018 22:51

I won a goldfish at a fairground when I was 5. My dad said I couldn't take it home as it would die and so I was given a glass mug instead!

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 25/09/2018 23:09

I've won 2 things from Mumsnet. A storybook about my dd that had her illustrated in it and included friends and family. It also came with a t-shirt with her face on it.
Other prize was a Sophie Conran portmeirion dinner set. It came in very handy as a gift for my sils parents. They'd done so much for us over the years and always refused anything in return. Sils mum was speechless. It was lovely and part of me wishes I'd kept it but I had no where to store it and there's no way it would remain in tact with my kids.
My mum and her friend are huge fans of Nathan Carter an Irish singer who's hugely famous in Ireland but not so much over here. She had tried to get tickets for his show at the Lowry theatre but it was sold out. So I liked his Facebook page and shared a competition to win tickets for that show at the Lowry and won! My mum was ecstatic.

Geekster1963 · 25/09/2018 23:15

I won a running t-shirt a few months ago when a letter I sent in to Women’s running magazine was letter of the month.

MissKummerspeck · 25/09/2018 23:18

An Easter egg, a mascara, £40 on scratch card, a box of muffins 😂

anitagreen · 25/09/2018 23:18

I won £680 on online bingo this year but nothing since however I've only wagered about £80 I won't waste no more lol
