The only thing I've ever won was a train set when I was in my 20's.

A cassette Walkman from ceefax. Do I win most obsolete? Grin

Mmmmdanone · 26/09/2018 08:14

I won £2000 of furniture once. Best win ever as had just bought my first flat..

Thesexyskeleton · 26/09/2018 08:25

I’ve won three things in my life aside from those little grabby machine toys!

The first was a giant stuffed rabbit which I won at a school fatê when I was 8, I’d guessed it’s name correctly, I was over the moon!

The second thing I won were passes to the opening premier of ‘Like Mike’ in London, where I would have had the chance to meet all the actors, watch the film and ride in a limo courtesy of the Disney Channel when I was about 11/12.
Sadly my bloody NTL box was down for a week and I missed my congrats e-mail, so they passed it to someone else, I wallowed for weeks.
I wrote to them to explain, and they did send me a load of merch which was very nice of them! They even sent me a fab little micro scooter!

The last thing I won were tickets to KOKO in London to watch the RHCPs after entering a Radio 1 comp, DH was delighted about it as they’re his favourite band. We had a great time!

I should have won at bingo once when I went with my gran, but because I was dabbing the numbers so slowly I didn’t realise, and somebody called before me after the number I would have won on.
I was told as my final number had passed I got diddly squat.

User5trillion · 26/09/2018 08:28

A frozen turkey at prize bingo in church, I was 12! I am the unluckiest person ever.

cantfindname · 26/09/2018 08:28

I won a raffle prize. It was a book about racing Jack Russell terriers. I have never owned a JRT, neither am I likely to and have zero interest in racing dogs.

Eventually I gave the book to a charity shop where it sat for weeks and weeks and weeks and.......

OddestSock · 26/09/2018 08:30

I’ve won a few bits - £100 on premium bonds once, a wii fit plus (years ago!) in a work raffle, £100 Pizza Express vouchers a couple of years ago. DH won an amazon echo a couple of years ago in a work raffle & for quite a while kept winning Wagamama vouchers in work. He also won a taster box of new cakes from a lovely bakery near him.

OddestSock · 26/09/2018 08:31

Oh & I also guessed the number of sweets in a jar correctly at a school fete when I was little. This was AMAZING.

LoniceraJaponica · 26/09/2018 08:33

I won Christmas one year!
I won a turkey at the school Christmas fair on the Friday, and a Christmas hamper at the church fair on the Saturday.

I won an Echo Dot at a raffle in the summer, and gave it to DD for her birthday. It is still in its box.

t00dle00 · 26/09/2018 09:12

I won a £300 voucher on here a couple of years ago.

I won tickets to a festival when I was a teen.

I won pass the parcel at a friends birthday party when I was a kid.

Scoleah · 26/09/2018 10:10

Oh and I won £300 love2shop vouchers on Here and had them delivered week before Christmas last year!
Did last min Christmas present shopping and sorted the Food shop in Iceland as they're accepted there! Grin

FoulMouthedMotherFigure · 26/09/2018 10:39

More than 20 years ago, I won a night at the Waldorf for two people plus seats in a fancy box for a Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall. DH and I were collected from our home by chauffeur-driven limo.

It was through a competition in the TV Times where I had to give the name of the actor who played Sicknote in London's Burning. There was a swanky reception afterwards with all the London's Burning cast there, and I had the chance to tell Richard Walsh he'd won me the prize. He was quite tickled by it and said his only other claim to fame was finding the same question on a pub quiz machine!

The Waldorf was very nice - we had a suite that was bigger than our entire house, and a bed so large that DH and I couldn't find each other in it! Grin

SilverySurfer · 26/09/2018 12:29

A five star holiday for two to Mauritius - thanks to Waitrose.

GoodbyeSummer · 26/09/2018 15:17

I've just won £2 on one scratchcard and a tenner on another.
My h won a weekend away last year but that was with his work buddies rather than for us. He's also won the occasional night in a hotel, a 52" tv, a DVD player, loads of love2shop vouchers and a few other things, all through his work.

Testarossa1 · 26/09/2018 15:20

£1000 on pointless in 2016 and a Michael Ball signed cd on a radio competition years ago!!

tigercub50 · 26/09/2018 15:36

I must get back into comping again as there are thousands out there, some entered only by a few. I’ve won loads over the years. Some of the best were a week in France (Eurocamp) including ferry travel, a weekend at a country house hotel, a month’s free Montezuma chocolates & a trip to Proms in the Park (VIP through Renault magazine). If we’d wanted to, we could have drunk limitless Veuve Cliquot champagne!

stripeswitheverything · 26/09/2018 15:41

I once won a small embroidered picture of a thatched cottage complete with nicotine-stained wooden frame in a raffle.

I gave it to MIL Grin

kezzy13 · 26/09/2018 15:43

What do you all find are the best ones to enter?

TomHardyswife · 26/09/2018 15:52

I won a weeks holiday to Portugal in luxury accommodation for two along with tickets to watch England play France in Portugal.

The game/event was sponsored by MasterCard and I had unknowingly entered myself into the competition when I took out a new MasterCard as part of balance transferring my existing credit card.

So when I received the letter to say I had won a holiday I thought it was a scam and put the letter in the bin!!

It was only when I stopped and thought about it and realised the envelope was hand written and it had a stamp that someone had manually put licked on it that made me think it could be genuine.

And it was.. Such a lovely bonus week away with DH.

MotherWol · 26/09/2018 16:03

Yep, quite a lot at one point - I went through a period of entering a lot of competitions and won a few European holidays, gift vouchers etc. I think the best thing I won was a trip to Paris on Eurostar, which was lovely. It's got harder in recent years - companies have reduced their promotions budgets so there aren't as many good prizes on offer, and there are more people entering. Plus lots of competitions are now on social media and I think Instagram comps can be a bit shady. I've also had less time for it in recent years, so it's been ages since I've entered seriously or had a big win. But it's a lot of fun!

PoisonousSmurf · 26/09/2018 16:07

I won a competition to have an all expenses trip to Brussels and Paris, with first class travel and five star hotels. It was from Sony Pictures and all we had to do was to dress as a Smurfette for the day :-)
There were 200 of us from all over the world to promote 'The Smurfs 2' back in 2013.
Best fun me and my then 11 year old DD I ever had!

strumpetblowingatrumpet · 26/09/2018 16:20

I won a printer once..

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 26/09/2018 16:23

I won a camcorder on here and it broke after the second use and @MNHQ didn’t reply to my emails about getting it repaired. Only slightly bitter over that...

gingeristhenewblack43 · 26/09/2018 16:23

The occasional £25 on premium bonds when I had them. I once won on online comp run by a local radio station for a new boiler and £200 vouchers for local big shopping complex, particularly handy as we were moving house and the new house needed a new boiler.

My local authority run a regular comp about recycling and the prize is £200 love to shop vouchers. I've won twice!

Last year I won a comp for a midweek stay in a lodge with a hot tub which was fab.

Pre DC I comped a lot and would receive random runner up items in the post like a cookery book or umbrella. I once got an ipod with no letter as to who or where it was from.

EastMidsGPs · 26/09/2018 17:55

I won children's painting competition in our local paper when i was 6. The prize was a 5 shilling postal order - I put this towards a tortoise.

Puppywithattitude · 26/09/2018 18:05

This probably doesn't count as it wasn't my prize but a photograph of my face won a national competition many years ago.
