The only thing I've ever won was a train set when I was in my 20's.

DDog won a competition at a local fun dog show earlier in the summer, and is still munching his way through the food he won - it was about £50 worth so very generous. We also got a shiny rosette.

I won a basket of chocolates when I was in secondary school and picked the right square on a treasure map. Unfortunately, the name of the prize winner was announced in assembly and so it was discovered that I was skiving assembly Blush

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/09/2018 23:21

A cruise (though on condition I wrote a daily report about it)

It was on Holland America's Ryndam and was absolutely AWFUL ... or to put it another way, it was free and it still cost too much Hmm

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 25/09/2018 23:22

I also bet £3 on the outcome of the general election in 2010 (bet on a hung parliament the January beforehand), and tripled my money! I knew there was a reason I did an A Level in politics...

Nearly forgot the time I won a 3 day trip to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the surrounding area. I did, however, have to get myself there... it was a good job I was already in Australia, but it necessitated a 33 hour non-stop coach journey from hell to get there. Swings and roundabouts...

mamakoukla · 25/09/2018 23:25

A night at the Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh. They gave us a corner suite with a turret, whisky and posh chocolates. I was an undergrad at the time; luxury and bliss

Dodie66 · 25/09/2018 23:27

I win on the premium bonds nearly every month. Mostly £25 but so far this year 10 lots. I too have £30,000. I also win on the lottery quite a few times. Only small amounts like £2.50 occasionally £25

Armchairanarchist · 25/09/2018 23:28

Concert, festival and theatre tickets from a local radio station. Uggs, Converse, bouquet of flowers and meals out on Facebook pages.

Armchairanarchist · 25/09/2018 23:29

Oh, and a two foot tall Easter Egg that I donated to a local children's ward.

KTyoupigeon · 25/09/2018 23:30

Aged early 20's I won a flight on Concord through a work competition that I didn't even know staff had been enetered.
Haven't really won anything since

HoobleDooble · 25/09/2018 23:33

2nd prize in a Lego building competition when I was about 7 (the prize was a couple of Lego sets). Then nothing except the odd £10 on the lottery, until I won £15 on the postcode lottery a few weeks ago, and a £25 Marstons voucher this week for filling in a customer feedback thing.

GoodbyeSummer · 25/09/2018 23:35

A couple of photography competitions.
A £300 voucher from one of the sponsored threads on here.
The odd fiver or tenner on scratchcards.

weegiemum · 25/09/2018 23:41

Just recently, £240 worth of takeaways from Just Eat! I didn't even know I'd entered a competition!!

AnnabelleLecter · 25/09/2018 23:56

Lots of premium bond prizes. At least £25 a month but we are nearing the maximum.
A champagne breakfast for two in a posh local hotel in a raffle.

LemonysSnicket · 26/09/2018 00:23

A Christmas cake at a WI market after guessing the weight correctly. Cake

AltheaorDonna · 26/09/2018 04:55

I recently won a top of the range Miele washer and drier, with a trip to Sydney to get my utility room designed by a top designer (including flights, five star hotel, and limo transfers! I've won lots of other stuff, including a couple of weekends away, a Philips air fryer, and I got to open an Aldi and get a trolley full of groceries before anyone else got in the store. I've also won heaps of tickets to stuff, a hamper full of Easter eggs, a pair of designer high heels (gave them to a friend), a luxury food hamper and my gas bill paid! I really must get into it again. I won most of this during a period of about 18 months when I did a minimum of ten competitions a day. I won something most weeks, even if it was only cinema tix. I've had my best wins doing those 25 words or less things, I usually try to write a funny little poem.

Babybearsporij · 26/09/2018 06:37

Nothing. Apart from about £20 on the lottery when I worked in a shop and my colleague and I bought a ticket a customer didn't want instead of going through the rigmarole of voiding it. That was a long time ago!

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 26/09/2018 06:44

Beauty competition on holiday a few years ago and won the face of something when I was 22. My baby daughter also won the baby beauty competition.

stellabird · 26/09/2018 07:03

An enormous Easter egg which was solid chocolate and just too big to eat. I donated it to the local homeless shelter.

Theatre tickets when I wrote to the local paper.

A carton of soft drinks when I was a kid.

Not competition, but I wrote to Revlon asking why a certain lipstick colour had been discontinued, and they sent me a huge box of cosmetics .

n0ne · 26/09/2018 07:19

A few things like gig tickets, a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels, a prototype phone, but the biggest thing I won was the lottery! It wasn't a life-changing amount due to it being split with a fair number of people (small jackpot, multiple winners, was part of a syndicate) but enough to pay off some debts, give some to family and have a pretty easy life for a few years. It's long spent now and I feel like I've used up all my luck!

vampirethriller · 26/09/2018 07:29

Last year I won a Vileda mop from Take Break magazine and a silver and gemstone necklace from a local company. So far this year I've had £200 on a scratch card and £100 Argos vouchers from a fancy raffle.
In the last few years I've won a barbecue, a Flymo, a beard care set, a book on human trafficking and £300 on the lottery.

Mumoftwo12345 · 26/09/2018 07:30

4 boxes of herbal horse feed supplements from horse & pony magazine. I didn't have a horse.
I did volunteer at a local farm which had two aging nags, they loved it & I convinced myself I was adding years to their lives Grin

CurcubitaPepo · 26/09/2018 07:32

A years supply of Calvin Klein underwear and a stereo system. Both in the last 5 years ish.

confusedofengland · 26/09/2018 08:06

I've won quite a few things & am just about to book my latest prize (meal for 4 in a posh pub in Knightsbridge, need to book table). Prizes have ranged from a bottle of wine to meals out to toys & even some money once (£100). Plus a lot more besides!

BIL, however, is on a whole different level. He enters multiple competitions each day & has won A TV, an iPad, a holiday to South Africa & much more. I kind of copy him on FB & enter whatever he does Grin
