What song makes you cry

Mine is Sorry seems to be the hardest word. Years ago OH had a terrible row and went nearly 2 days without talking. He played that song to me , I cried, he cried , we cuddled , we talked and all was right with the world again. Whenever I hear it it takes me back and makes me well up.

OnlyBeen Right Down The Line would be our first dance (wedding). It's beautiful.

OnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 23/09/2018 11:14

Crunchymum, think it would also be my top pick for first dance. Such a beautiful but simple sentiment.

OnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 23/09/2018 11:15

Awwlookatmybabyspider, it's the "i know things will get better" line that always does it for me.

Alyssa Lies by Jason Michael Carroll
Concrete Angel by Martina McBride
This One's for the Girls by Martina McBride has also made me cry a few times.

YY to 'This Woman's Work' especially when it was in the Handmaids Tale.

Also agree with Tears in Heaven and Dance with my Father, I'm crying just thinking about them!

Mine are:
Songbird - Eva Cassidy
Hear You Me - Jimmy Eat World
Fix You - Coldplay
My Immortal - Evanescence
How to save a life - The Fray
I'll be Missing You - Puff Daddy (random one but it always makes me tear up!)

See you again by Charlie Puth, it came on the radio when I got in my car to leave my horse , who'd been with me 18 years, dead in his field. He's had an awful accident and the vet and fire brigade a couple of hours trying to save him . I had to PTS. It's upset me just thinking about the song. I can't listen to it

stephanielittl7 · 23/09/2018 12:22

I'll see you again by Westlife It came out the same year my beloved Grandad passed away and it makes me think of him.

You raise me up by Westlife. Had it played at my Mums funeral and cant listen to it now.

There you'll be by Faith Hill. Was played at the funeral of a very dear friend who was like a sister to me. Makes me think of her.

Never grow up - Taylor Swift

shakeatailfeather · 23/09/2018 14:01

For me it depends. There isn't one song that will always make me cry but in the past i've cried to ...

Tell me its not true, from Blood brothers - just after my mum died. An old 1940s song, Don't Fence Me In, when it played in a tv show.

Que Sera Sera - first time i heard it after it being played at my dad's memorial service.

Father and Son - it plays at the end of Guardians of the galaxy 2, and this was when dh hadn't long been diagnosed with cancer. We have a ds and i was pg at the time. We knew dh wouldn't be cured.

The other day A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square set me off when it was played on a tv programme. It reminded me of dh (for a slightly tenuous reason).

With me it tends to be when it happens unexpectedly.

Love to all

incendio · 23/09/2018 14:07

Hello1290 that one really gets to me too! And the best day.

BeatriceJoanna · 23/09/2018 14:08

KatieMarieJ · 23/09/2018 14:10

Forgot one, The Old Rugged Cross. Don't very often hear it but it was played at my grandparents funerals. There is a particularly haunting version on Dr Who of all things. (The Motorway).

Indulgence · 23/09/2018 14:12

Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers.

It gets my dad every time, so therefore it gets me every time too.

"While I'm worth my room on this earth, I will be with you" is just so powerful.

MakeUpGirl · 23/09/2018 14:40

Jealous of the Angels by Jenn Bostic
Always makes me think of my sister
