It’s been a long hot summer, and on top of that we’ve just got back from holiday.

And ooooh, it’s so nice to feel cool, cold even. Not to fussed about the rain, that can do one. But tonight it’s recollect and I’ve had to go and get a hoodie on. I might even grab one of our fleecy blankets to get all cozy.

Soooo nice.

Yup it's brilliant, this summer has been torture.
I was thinking when I got dressed this morning that clothes are so much better at keeping you warm than keeping you cool.
I love a cardigan.Grin

CakeNinja · 21/09/2018 21:43

Not especially. The rain started here the day the dc finished school for the summer (honestly), and then we went away for a couple of weeks. By the time we got back, it was rainy and cloudy pretty much every day for the entire summer break although admittedly not cold.
I do love autumn but I hate being out and about feeling cold. Not only that but the heating doesn’t go on at work until November 😱 at least at home I can turn the heating on!

twiglet · 21/09/2018 21:44

Nope we have 4 weeks of renovation work with no central heating it's chaffing cold regardless of putting oil radiators on!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/09/2018 21:45

Love that winter is on its way, I have loved the hot summer but I have always hated September, generally hot muggy weather but without the joy of the sun and it’s the month for wasps, they are everywhere, so yes the colder it gets now the better!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/09/2018 21:47

Cold? What is this word you speak of?

(Perimenopausal and oblivious to what "cold" means)

iMatter · 21/09/2018 21:47

I love heat

I love wearing shorts

I love being warm

I miss it already 😞

MrsAmaretto · 21/09/2018 21:48

It was 5 degrees here last night, I’m looking forward to my sunny October holiday!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 21/09/2018 21:49

It has rained all day and I've had to put on an extra jumper and light the first fire of the autumn. It's bliss Grin I've lost 3 stone and I'm much colder than I used to be.

Rockbird · 21/09/2018 21:49

I was freezing today. It was bloody lovely!

Iwillorderthefood · 21/09/2018 21:52

I hate the cold

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 21/09/2018 21:54

I said to dh the other night that I had cold feet and I was delighted. The heat this year has just been too much for me and I haven’t felt like I’ve slept properly for months it’s nice to feel a bit chilly and snuggle under the duvet getting cosy.
We are away on holiday in a couple of eeeks though so the summer clothes haven’t been packed away just yet.

MistyMeena · 21/09/2018 21:55

God, no. I hate being cold. My feet have been freezing today and I'm not happy!

AlevelConfusion · 21/09/2018 21:55

When I took the dog for a walk this evening there was a really cold breeze - it was lovely Grin

mostdays · 21/09/2018 21:55

No its vile. We just turned the heating on. It's only September! It's cold and wet and windy and thoroughly bloody miserable. Roll on springtime...

GreenMeerkat · 21/09/2018 21:56

I'm 8 months pregnant so not feeling like I'm about to melt is a real novelty I'm very much enjoying!

TillyVonMilly · 21/09/2018 21:56

I’m still wearing shorts and a vest top although I had to put a hoody on today. I live in flip flops all summer and I’m not looking forward to proper shoes at all Sad

Sarahlou63 · 21/09/2018 21:57

10pm and 25c outside. 38c forecast for Sunday smug

theboxofdelights · 21/09/2018 21:58

I love it, love autumn, I walked my dog for an hour at Fountains Abbey this morning and it was absolutely stunning, mist clearing to beautiful sunshine and I had a fleece on!

Bluntness100 · 21/09/2018 22:01

No, the winter lasted for ages due to a shit summer last year, and then summer was blisteringly hot and over in a matter of weeks, and then here we are back to shit dark nights and mornings and the cold.

For me, give me warm summer days and nights, the thought of this is it for the next few months and it's going to get worse, is depressing.

CakeNinja · 21/09/2018 22:02

Ooh Thebox, in York? We stayed at the NT house there one New Years and it was beautiful, deer strolling past the window as we ate breakfast and the lake all froze over.
The house was lovely and warm but it was bloody freezing outside Grin

Meet0nTheIedge · 21/09/2018 22:07

Yes, its great, I hated the heatwave, this is so much nicer than being hot and sticky all the time.

Shadow01 · 21/09/2018 22:09

I’m loving pulling the duvet around me and snuggling in and wearing a
soft hoody and jeans during the day Smile

theboxofdelights · 21/09/2018 22:11

Near ish cake, 20 miles away. I live close enough to walk there over the fields so anytime I don't need to get to work early it is my walk but never in the dreadful heat when it is too hot for me and my dog

theboxofdelights · 21/09/2018 22:12

I am looking for some nice yoga pants and tops for winter round the house wearing shadow (one step up from pyjamas I like to think).

Ordered some new ugg slippers today after DD stole mine towards the end of last winter.

CitrusFruit9 · 21/09/2018 22:13

My internal thermostat seems to be permanently set on maximum thanks to the menopause, This summer was torture,

My DC are prancing around in hoodies and the sofa blanket has reappeared. I am still in T shirts but I am comfortable at last.

I'm thinking that next Summer's holiday should be spent in Alaska.
