Light-hearted: Don't you just LOVE some names?

Taking a break from work...how cool is 'Kashuo Ishiguro' especially with 'Sir' Prefix Grin

Always thought 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel' was quite something. Almost as if there will be no room big enough to fit his entire persona. Why hasn't this name ever appeared in the baby names section, they're always looking for something unique Wink

What other names do you know that just make you sit back and think WOW! (in a good way not in a 'Chardonaye' kind of way ifyswim).

Yes - sadly he doesn't live up to his thrilling moniker.

But what were his parents thinking?

What's wrong with "Spartacus Adonis"?

Gigi Hadid. She was never going to be average looking, was she? Why are so many fabulously named people so good looking? Is it the confidence of good genes?

It helps to have a cool surname. I'm Irish, and whilst there are some cool Irish surnames, many are just not compatible with anything too out-there. Not that it stops some people.

MawkishTwaddle · 21/09/2018 08:00

Shia LaBoeuf is a pretty cool one, I always think.

Going back to earlier in the thread, I had a great aunt Helia and still have a second cousin Helia. It is a lovely name but hasn’t been used in the family since the 30s.

Francesco da Mosto I love him and his Venetian house.

SLoisachtal · 21/09/2018 08:41

I loved his series too, derxa. Especially the final one where we got to see his house and the reunion with his DW, DC and DM - which I think he wasn't expecting at that point. And I loved his flamboyant singing as he was driving around in his Alfa Romeo!

Xenoplilius Lovegood! I know it’s a character but such a good name.

TheMythicalChicken · 21/09/2018 09:35

MadamesNet, it’s interesting that you mentioned Ravi Holy and Naga Munchetty in the same post, as she interviewed him once. Ravi is hilarious but Naga didn’t get any of his jokes 😁.

Fanny Bullock Workman

DuggeesWoggle · 21/09/2018 11:28

You wouldn't mess with Fanny Bullock Workman would you. Sounds like the sort of no nonsense woman that Gets Things Done.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/09/2018 11:46

Oh, a family friend has a daughter who is getting married soon, and she just has to change her surname. She'll become Hollie Hailstone!
