You've only got space for 2 of 3: washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher. Which 2 would you have?

We've only got space for 2 appliances. Currently have a washing machine and dishwasher but keep thinking we would like a tumble dryer.

Would you rather keep the dishwasher, or swap for a tumble dryer?

Tumble dryer and washer for me. I used to live in a tiny flat and before Dd come along it was fine without a tumble dryer, I made do, but it was damp and cold in winter so things took forever to dry. I didn’t have a dishwasher but haven’t ever minded washing up. I just do it as I go along. I only use the dryer in the winter really, but I wouldn’t be without it now.

Washer and tumble dryer. Used to have a dishwasher but it's quicker to wash up by hand.

FunSponges · 19/09/2018 10:57

We have a Candy Alise washer dryer
It's bloody brilliant. Before that we have 2nd hand hotpoint washer dryer that we had for 10 years before it went wrong.

I would never have a separate dryer over a dishwasher. Dryer gets used for towels and bedding and sometimes underwear in the colder months but dishwasher gets used most days.

Washing machine and tumble dryer. Don’t have a dishwasher here and would never buy one. I couldn’t live without my tumble dryer though!

Washing machine and dishwasher. I was without my dishwasher recently for a week and realised how much time it saved me and how much easier it is to keep the kitchen tidy when there are no dirty dishes hanging around waiting to be washed.
Had a washer dryer once but never again.

Washer and drier. You've got to wash clothes and I find it really tricky to get clothes dry in winter without the drier. I love the dishwasher but I don't mind washing up too much.

Washing machine and dishwasher hands down. Doing the dishes several times a day is a PITA. Heated airer to dry in winter (Lakeland - they're well worth the money!)

OnceUponATimeInAmerica · 19/09/2018 13:03

We had a washer dryer which lasted about 10 years. Think it was a Hotpoint.

We now don’t have a dryer at all, but have a pulley maid and Aga, so no need.

inquiquotiokixul · 19/09/2018 18:34

Really I don't think I would accept just having 2 of the 3. I would find a way.

However if it was completely impossible I would spend ££££ on the most expensive washer-dryer I could find. Generally I have had terrible experiences with washer-dryers and I don't trust them. However my sister swears than if you go for a top of the line German engineered model then they can be OK.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 19/09/2018 18:45

Washing machine and tumble dryer without question. We do have a dishwasher but only use it about once a week, if that.

GimmeBread · 19/09/2018 19:15

Washing machine and tumble dryer. I would never have a dishwasher even if I had room!

A580Hojas · 19/09/2018 19:55

Why wouldn't people have a dishwasher? Confused

SneakyGremlins · 19/09/2018 19:56

I live alone, I'm capable of washing the pots one person produces. If I don't tumble dry my clothes they smell of damp.

BitchQueen90 · 19/09/2018 20:06

I've got no interest in a dishwasher. Just me and DS at home, it takes 10 minutes to wash the dishes. It would be such a waste and costly for me to have a dishwasher.

I'd rather have a tumble dryer as living in a flat with no outside space getting our clothes dry is a PITA.

Lazypuppy · 19/09/2018 20:11

I have an indesit washer-dryer no problems. Then dishwasher as well

peachjuice · 13/10/2018 12:05

I took the plunge and bought a washer dryer! It's FAB! Drys brilliantly and washes well too.

I am excited to do washing and no longer have damp clothes hung up everywhere. That will wear off in two days.
