What has made you happy this weekend?

Mine are:

Bought Amber glass bottles for hand wash and a massive bottle of refill. Trying to be eco friendly. They make me happy every time I use them.

Weeded my front garden and pavement, picked up all the litter, cut back the lavender and ornamental grass. Makes me happy every time I look at my lovely best front garden.

Sample hair product my hairdresser gave me. Used this morning and smells lush.

Conkers. Just because.

Big extended family get together yesterday, we do it once a year. I'm always reminded that my cousins/aunts/uncles are really very nice and very interesting people. We don't get to see each other very much due to being scattered far and wide.

Leisurely coffee on my own this morning and time to myself to think. Bliss.

Bought nice soap in TK Maxx, so now all of my drawers smell lovely.

Found a recently released huuuuuge hardback in the library, which should mean bathtime and bedtime reading this week is sorted.

Pancakes.

Coming home from a few nights away with DH to one of my teens saying 'I missed you mum, it's been really difficult keeping this place clean and tidy …. didn't realise how much you must do'. Grin.

I enrolled for a course and had an interview for it on Friday afternoon. Anxiety got the better of me and I almost didnt go, but I got accepted and start on Monday. This is the first proper thing I have done for myself since becoming a lone parent 8 years ago. I am hoping it will build my confidence and lead to a career pathway! Very happy and proud of myself, its a big step in a series of baby steps I have been taking to turn my life around. I can finally see a bit of light in the hazy fog of long term depression.

My 15 month old has started blowing kisses (well, putting his hand over his mouth and then waving it at me) and it is the cutest. He’s so proud of himself as well Smile

romany4 · 16/09/2018 11:28

It's mine and DH anniversary. 28 years.
And he's bought me a new sofa which is getting delivered today. Love him!

We are currently on holiday with the extended family by the coast in a beautiful cottage. Woke up to the sound of the sea this morning. Perfect way to start the day :)

Gong to my brother’s 40th birthday party and seeing how many lovely friends he has. He is single and lives alone so I sometimes worry about him a bit but he has a real ‘family’ of friends.

Hairytangerine · 16/09/2018 11:35

My beautiful rescue cat who has been with us a week, watching him get to know his own house and grow in confidence.

Baking biscuits with teen, staying up late to do it watching rubbish tv, charting, laughing.

Layzee spa hot tub opportunity to chat with teen daughters in relaxed way in the dark watching the stars

1st weekend for months with nothing to do, nowhere to go.

Long lie in. Long baths and lots of reading. 1 book down , mostly through a second.

billysboy · 16/09/2018 11:54

ApolloandDaphne · 16/09/2018 12:01

I found a £20 note on the beach this morning. I plan to treat the family to ice cream with it this afternoon.

concretesieve · 16/09/2018 12:14

Had a lovely meal out last night with a friend I hadn't seen in ages and a great catch up. Don't get the chance to go out much but it was lovely. It was a Moroccan restaurant and the food was delicious.

Rigamorph · 16/09/2018 12:48

My bonsai crabapple tree has ripe tiny apples! I am in love 😂

Weeding the front garden with my children and their excitement at finding snails and wondering if they are brother and sisters and giving them names. They did a snail race and were just so excited.
