Mine are:

Bought Amber glass bottles for hand wash and a massive bottle of refill. Trying to be eco friendly. They make me happy every time I use them.

Weeded my front garden and pavement, picked up all the litter, cut back the lavender and ornamental grass. Makes me happy every time I look at my lovely best front garden.

Sample hair product my hairdresser gave me. Used this morning and smells lush.

Conkers. Just because.

Riga that is the cutest!
Cat - my kids didn’t help with the weeding and all the snails got chucked in the green bin!

Went for a hike yesterday with the kids and my friend round a beautiful NT place my friend hadn’t been to before and discovered it afresh through her eyes.

Had a lazy morning today, ate delicious leftovers for lunch. Got tidied up in the garden and the house is nice and tidy too. Am on doing a meal plan now using things up from the fridge before our hols.

Simple things but make me happy!

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 16/09/2018 13:23

Had friday off work for a Family wedding.

Best friend and her family popped round for a unplanned visit yesterday.

Going for an Auntum walk now with my partner and 3 daughters. Leaving phone at home for zero disturbance!

Lush

This morning:
Meeting a fluffy guide dog in training puppy.

And these - gentle knock on the door, mum and young daughter standing there with roses. "I hope you don't mind. My daughter saw you cutting the lawn yesterday, she said you looked so sad and could we buy you flowers, so we did"

We've been having a difficult time recently so these made me a bit teary.

We don't really know the family, well the guinea pigs do, as they were at a birthday party the young daughter attended😃

Started Maternity leave on Friday! Had a wonderful time so far.

CoperCabana · 16/09/2018 13:29

EastMids - I seem to have something in my eye! Hope you are ok.

Selina - when is your baby due?

EastMidsGPs · 16/09/2018 13:34

CoperCabana
Thank you.

I had a little cry when they'd gone which was just what I needed.
Life has thrown us a curved ball this summer but we'll survive.

Love threads like this.

Eastmids that is so sweet and kind!

Lovely dog walks with my two, my puppy lab is 5 months and just can't believe his luck when I take him somewhere to gallop around, hard not to be happy watching him.

Catching up with some girlfriends I have had for 29 years last night over pizza and prosseco. Much laughing.

Preparing Jamie's one tray lamb roast with vegetables which is now in the oven to slow cook for tea tonight. I don't usually cook at all and it was such a pleasure to do and already smells amazing.

Swimming a mile in a lane to myself this morning and the way it made my hangover feel sooo much better.

Life is good.

Love this thread!
Made it to my first anonymous meeting since having a baby 20 months ago, felt good to see my people and make positive steps for change.
yesterday bought my neighbour her favourite (luxury) foods for her 70th birthday- she was over the moon!

CoperCabana · 16/09/2018 13:55

Peonys - sending positive vibes your way!

  • DH getting discharged from hospital yesterday.
  • Flopping side by side on the sofa this afternoon, reading in companionable silence as both shattered from a few nights without sleep. Accompanied by v.happy dog.
  • Teens helping out with shopping and chores with surprisingly minimal amount of fuss.

Making chocolate banana bread with my four year old dd. I love doing bits like that together.

Clarabella8 · 16/09/2018 14:12

Hairy tangerine , hope your beautiful boy is making himself at home , they soon do don’t they x we have a layzspa too , we only go in when it’s dark , so lovely being in a steamy bubbly pool under the stars .Our teen daughter loves it too , she relaxes and chats in there too , it must be the absence of her phone 😀

Our son was born on the 5th of September. His birthday was great, such a good day.
Unfortunately he was not well when he was born and therefore had to stay in hospital for 12 days. 3 years ago today he came home.
Of course I appreciate that many people go through much worse than we did, and we were very fortunate that he was okay and only in for 12 days.
But this date is very special to us, it finally felt like we could be a proper family, with our baby, at home. That meant a lot. So I'm always very happy on this date.

(I hope I don't upset anybody by saying this).

BroomHandledMouser · 16/09/2018 15:20

Ahh happymummy ❤️

I really like these threads!

We are in business with another couple. We have all worked so bloody hard for 18 months solid and we’re finally able to give our households a pay rise! It’s nothing major, but it feels like our hard work is starting to pay off a little Smile

Also, I’ve made a stew and done all the washing! Woohoo!

IndigoSpritz · 16/09/2018 15:27

Piano practice coming along nicely.

Great skinnydip swimming on Saturday afternoon. Pool temperature was just right.

Seeing my favourite barmaid on Saturday evening for the first time in about a fortnight. I thought she had left but thankfully not. She's lovely (but way too young, I fear).

CoperCabana · 16/09/2018 15:43

Yay! Lots of happy mners!

I have got another couple:

6 loads of washing done this weekend and the weather is perfect for line drying

Kids finally off screens and they are busy painting and crafting, singing to themselves, narrating what they are doing, and chatting to each other!

Foraging for sloes/rosehips.

Babybearsporij · 16/09/2018 16:37

Had something new from the Chinese on Friday and it was absolutely lovely. Ate it with DH while we caught up on Bake Off. Was just a really nice evening.

Epic early morning run this morning, just one of those where it felt easy and I felt like I was flying. Set me up for the day.

Tomboytown · 16/09/2018 16:41

Ignored this thread before because I was feeling terrible.
Forced myself to go out. Just had best fun with my Uncle riding a bike. He has Alzheimer’s. He was so happy.

Howtodeal · 16/09/2018 16:46

I made a fish pie and it was lovely. We're a bit skint this week and I feel really good that I went to Tesco this morning and between that and leftovers have meal planned the whole week. Booked a bargain break away for me and DH in December which is exciting. And the dog is sleeping in my lap, which she never does and it's too cute. My leg is absolutely killing me as its all squashed but I'm determined not to move!
