What has made you happy this weekend?

Mine are:

Bought Amber glass bottles for hand wash and a massive bottle of refill. Trying to be eco friendly. They make me happy every time I use them.

Weeded my front garden and pavement, picked up all the litter, cut back the lavender and ornamental grass. Makes me happy every time I look at my lovely best front garden.

Sample hair product my hairdresser gave me. Used this morning and smells lush.

Conkers. Just because.

Did this week’s meal plan with the DC and everybody was happy so hopefully no moaning in the week. Had sensible conversation about balanced diets, etc, in the morning after breakfast and not at dinner time when everyone’s tired and hungry.

Both DC did all their weekend jobs without us asking them (eg homework, pack school bag, music practice) so took them out for a treat this afternoon as we’d all done our chores.

Actually feeling like I might be doing alright as a parent today, and maybe last weekend’s pain of trying to teach them to be more independent actually worked.

What has made you happy this weekend?

Had a massive toy sort out and assembled new toy storage from IKEA. Now feels like they actually have things they can enjoy playing with as we know where it is rather than multiple toy boxes with mess.
Watching the end of Ozark series 2 with DH and an Indian takeaway.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/09/2018 17:44

Bought some more shoe storage to sort out shoe soup situation.

Bought a second hand chest of drawers to replace the rattan fronted one that Spongecat has shredded.

Went through the self service till at Poundland, where Elvis has taken up residence. Aahaaa .Grin @CoperCabana intrigued about your amber bottles. Where can such wondrous things be bought?

CoperCabana · 16/09/2018 17:45

Drinking fizz and gossiping with my friend
Watching DS play with his friends
Having a very tidy house (spent all morning tidying!)
Starting to plan Christmas [santa]

Meltedicicle · 16/09/2018 17:51

Just back from the park. DD1 has Downs and finds some play equipment hard but today she managed a little bit of the spider net climbing frame-first time she’s got off the ground!

A really yummy roast dinner.

Hopefully, Bodyguard later will make me happy too Grin

LondonLassInTheCountry · 16/09/2018 17:53

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/09/2018 18:01

Thanks @copercabana

Chocolateismyvice · 16/09/2018 18:25

I found out I was pregnant on Friday and confirmed it again with another FRER and a CB digital. Absolutely thrilled (second month TTC our second baby).

cinammonrollsnotgenderroles · 16/09/2018 18:27

I'm stranded after an injury and my dh has gone away (very reluctantly) for work. THREE of the new friends I've made recently (in this new town we've come to for work) have come round to see me and help me adjust. I'm miserable about the injury but humbled and cheered by the kindness I'm being shown.

Arrowfanatic · 16/09/2018 18:32

I realised that all my studying for my karate 2nd Dan black belt written test is paying off and I was able to name certain moves in Japanese that I never believed I would be able to Grin especially when someone asked me the name of a not often used move and I was able to tell them without having to think. Might sound silly but it's cheered me up as I was so worried about managing to learn it all. Japanese is not an easy language, and tbf I struggle with English a lot and I'm English Grin

Knowing that, 3 months after securing a new job, I FINALLY get leave my current job and start the new one in a week. The weight has finally been lifted off my shoulders

Stormwhale · 16/09/2018 19:06

Congratulations chocolate!! That's lovely news!! FlowersBrewCake

VQ1970 · 16/09/2018 19:27

Swimming in the sea yesterday and today.

Massive clear out of my wardrobes and linen cupboard, it all looks so tidy now and I’ve got a boot full of bags to take to my friends mum for her charity sale. It’s very therapeutic.

Just eaten a lovely roast chicken dinner which I cooked and husband has cleared away.

Knowing it’s not an ordinary Sunday night - I’m still on holiday for a week so no alarm clock tomorrow.

AuditAngel · 16/09/2018 20:48

Yesterday I drove from Twickenham to Walsall (2.5 hours each way) to take DD’s to karate squad training. It was worth it as DD1 (11) has been selected to go to the European Championships in Malta next month.

Today we went out for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary this week.

weegiemum · 16/09/2018 20:57

I'm disabled and have real problems using my hands, bending, walking etc. I rely on my dh a lot.

Yesterday I got up first and cleaned the kitchen! On my own! I was on such a roll I then cleaned out the fridge! Later dd1 (who is 18) and I went shopping to Tesco and did the whole weeks worth of grocery shopping, which I was able to arrange in my lovely clean fridge. We also went for coffee and had a lovely chat, about the boyfriend and starting uni (tomorrow!!).

Dh does so much to keep the house/family running as well as working long hours and it was lovely to give him a bit of a break. Just shows what I can do when I really push myself. Knackered now though!

StillMedusa · 16/09/2018 20:59

Went camping with some friends... sat in a field with a fire pit and wine, and a couple of my adult kids joined us.
At 50 and not being very socially able I never thought I'd have new friends in our life... it was great (but a bit chilly!)

nonameisbetterthanmyname · 16/09/2018 21:02

I played in a touch rugby tournament and my DS said I was really good ( usually my DC bully me relentlessly especially about playing sports). This was high praise indeed Grin
