Matched betting....I know!

I know there are threads dedicated to this, but they are quite technical and go over my head.
For anyone who does / has done it, what is a realistic time commitment to make a few hundred pounds a month? And how quickly does it dry up? I'd quite like to make about £1000 to pay off a lingering debt, could get a float of about £400 to start off.....does that seem doable? TIA.

Done it!
After a lot of umming and ahhing i have worked my way through a step by step, and placed my first matched bet!
(And my first ever bet as well)

Fingers crossed!

A quick question....

Obviously the smaller the amount you bet, the smaller the return per bet...

Is it advisable to put as much spare money into it as you can, to guarantee a bigger return per game?

Am i misunderstanding it all?

Thanks for any help!

There's usually a maximum free bet, eg bet £20 get £10, so do the minimum stake you can to get the freebie.

If it's a 'we'll match your stake up to £20' type offer then stake the amount needed to get as big a free bet as possible.

How does matched betting and tax credits work?

And always match the value of the free bet with the lay bet?

Just had my first go at an offer that isn't a simple free bet join up offer. Sky were offering refund if your horse comes in second or third so I picked the second fave, put my lay bet on...horse came in 5th! Very small loss, but I am up overall so not too concerned.
