I'm struggling at the moment with MH issues that are refusing to let up and part of that is I'm struggling to see the good in the world.

It must exist so I'm asking MN to help me to see it.

So far today I have,

the lovely person who sent me a lovely pm today,
the patient at the pharmacy who went and picked up my meds for me so I didn't need to struggle and,
the person who told me they care.

So, what's yours?

I went out to the shop for a couple of things, got some help whilst there.

I went for a really long walk with my dog in the sunshine this morning. I saw rabbits and a heard of deer with a huge stag with absolutely massive antlers.
It was amazing.
It all went a bit down hill this afternoon with a rather stressful swimming lesson straight after school, youngest child did a wee in his pants of course his spare clothes were in the car and he was naked from the waist down waving his willy aroundBlush not what I neededGrin

When I walked back from after school club with DS2, it was a really lovely evening. It was 6pm, so the sun was low in the sky, it was warm and still.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 03/10/2018 22:02

My happy things:

  • DS2 keeps allying for clubs and responsibilities st school and getting in! Plus he's always so keen to help - at home, and in the world. He's such a good person.
  • My love-bomb campaign with his older brother (15) is paying off. He's talking to me so much more, being affectionate and fun, and generally being lovely.
  • DH remembered DS1 and I had a meeting after school and moved heaven and earth to get back on time to look after DS2.
  • I got two new work commissions, for £££!
  • I made DS1's favourite muffins and they are delicious.
  • I had a meeting arranged for today that I wasn't looking forward to at ALL, and they cancelled it! Get in 😂

We lost our labrador very suddenly on Saturday morning. She was only 9. My friend dropped off a two sided photo frame with beautiful black and white photographs of our girl this morning. It made me cry but I was also incredibly touched.

Becca19962014 · 03/10/2018 22:22

I'm sorry you lost your dog arm it's lovely your friend bought you some lovely photographs, I too would have cried if I was you. Not everyone appreciates how much pets can mean.

@becca19962014 She was very much a part of our family, who was sadly abused by her first owners. We brought her home at around 6/8 months old. Despite her early life she truly was the gentlest dog I've ever met. We were very fortunate to share her all too brief life.

Becca19962014 · 03/10/2018 23:27

Sounds like she was fortunate to have you in her life too.

These past few days have been awful for us all. We have decided in a few months to rescue again and although our home feels empty now, it won't be until we're ready and not just attempting to replace what we've lost. DS (aged 22) went to a florist on Saturday and brought home a bouquet of flowers for her. That also touched me.

SneakyGremlins · 04/10/2018 00:04

Armchair Flowers

@PhilomenaButterfly after googling, that's exactly what they are Grin

Becca19962014 · 04/10/2018 00:24

Definitely a good idea to wait until you're all ready, it doesn't help you or the dog you get to get one right away I don't think anyway.

Lovely Grems! I now wish we had an Aldi, as I now have a speculoos craving!

MipMipMip · 04/10/2018 07:24

Ooh those look nice . Are they an Aldi special?

I'm up very early, which is a bad thing. But it's because new cooker is being delivered so very good thing. Grin

MinaPaws · 04/10/2018 08:30

@WhatsGoingOn - I loved your post. I've been love bombing DS1 too recently because he is quite cool around family and spends as little time with us as possible. And it is paying off in tiny ways.

MinaPaws · 04/10/2018 08:34

@Armchairanarchist - so sorry about your dog. That's heartbreaking. They are members of the family. And labs are so soppy and loving and protective.

Becca19962014 · 04/10/2018 14:52

My GP who was very supportive and actually tries to understand how much I struggle with PTSD and seeing Drs. Any Drs including them.

I found a black skirt I’ve been looking for, for ages Grin I’m easily pleased

Sorted out a customer issue and he went away a happy bunny

Told I wasn’t needed to attend a meeting which meant no 300 mile round trip in a few weeks time

holycityzoo · 05/10/2018 10:22

My gardener has won the lottery!
I'm very very pleased for her she's a lovely person and although it's not a life changing amount it will help her a lot.
Armchair I'm very sorry about your dog. Our girl is very old now and I dread the day she goes. Sending you huge hugsThanks

Struggling today...

SleightOfMind · 05/10/2018 23:10

A project my company had resisted me spending time on, that I pushed through because I thought it was important, is up for an award Blush

DC4, who is not academic like his siblings, is loving his dance and gymnastics and has found things to be great at in school.

Sleighthound2, who is scared of grown up humans and big dogs, had a fuss from a stranger in the park and played with a Labrador without growling.
My work is news related and has been overwhelming recently.
The Nobel peace prize announcement really helped counteract the welter of upsetting stuff I’ve had to engage with recently.

The best thing of all is that the robin I’m trying to tame hopped on to my foot (by accident) this morning.

Sleep well Becca, this is such a lovely thread. You’ve spread warmth into all our lives. Smile

SleightOfMind · 05/10/2018 23:15

If you’re still awake, The Christmas hats I ordered for the Sleighthounds have arrived and they look utterly, stupidly, adorable in them.

I hope things are getting better and this is just the dark before the dawn.

Becca19962014 · 06/10/2018 12:15

I went out and got most of what I needed. Don't know if it counts as good though.

MinaPaws · 06/10/2018 13:17

My auntie just sent me a beautiful plant through the post and some very generous presents for DC. We've both had a tough time recently and this is her way of showing her love.

PhilomenaButterfly · 06/10/2018 13:21

Sleight I need to see the Sleighthounds in Christmas hats! My aunt's dogs definitely need Christmas hats... Xmas Grin

Mehaveit · 06/10/2018 13:46

My boss who told me I am a genius and a star. I needed to hear that this week as I had huge self doubt issues, she believed in me and it all worked out.
