CBB 'punch' incident. Views?

Not sure about this as it is highly irritating to have someone jumping around you pretend to 'box' and he could have poked her by accident. She was in a car accident recently and could be tender there. Some could say she had a right to complain even though he was obviously not deliberately trying to hurt her.

The asking for him to be removed from the house (if she did that) and claims that he'd 'beaten her up' were a complete overreaction of though.

rainbow everyone's mental health is important but I'm not going to get outraged about false accusers when they are so very few and far between, just because a soap star cried in the diary room on CBB. It can't be nice for him right now, and being isolated will definitely make everything compounded and seem so much worse than it is, but he will recover. I have no doubt of that. And he will unintentionally be the poster boy for years to come for poor menz and the wimmin trying to ruin them 🙄

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 14:43

Gunpowder - did you not see the other bit of Shatners comment about the friend who had a false allegation made against them and it ruined their life?
What do you think about that bit?

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 14:44

And he will unintentionally be the poster boy for years to come for poor menz and the wimmin trying to ruin them

Ok, with ridiculous comments like that you just come across as someone with some total issues of your own.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:44

Police found no evidence

BTW unless you're a police officer on the case (in which case you shouldn't discuss it publicly) you don't know this, police don't publicise this information.

DioneTheDiabolist · 03/09/2018 14:44

he will unintentionally be the poster boy for years to come for poor menz and the wimmin trying to ruin them
And that is RP's fault.

Thesearmsofmine · 03/09/2018 14:47

i’m not going to get outraged about false accusers when they are so very few and far between

It doesn’t matter how rare they are, you should be outraged about false accusations and the damamge it can cause.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:47

Gunpowder - did you not see the other bit of Shatners comment about the friend who had a false allegation made against them and it ruined their life?

Oh are we believing that Shatners friend didn't do what they were accused of? Why not the woman then? Because it's funny how these men are always falsely accused, yet statistics show that false accusations are so rare compared to actual assaults 🧐 there's further evidence to suggest that false accusations don't target specific people, but rather say "a man broke into my house I don't know who he was etc".

And TBH, I'd rather focus my anger on the 80,000 women a year raped, a fraction of whom see any justice. It amazes me that people think that isn't as bad as a man being falsely accused

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:49

I'll chose what to be outraged about thanks Hmm do you all get so angry about other things that hardly ever happen?

Someone on here once made a great analogy about people getting frothy over false allegations. It's like a building burning on fire, and the firemen concentrating on putting out the fire on a tiny flower bed outside, saying "fucking flower beds, they started this".

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:51

So you don’t think men could lose any work, relationships, have contact with children affected due to a false accusation made against them?

Possibly, possibly not. The sad truth is there are far more men out there who are violent, rapists, sexual predators etc who do have jobs working with women, contact with children etc when it isn't what's safe for others, than there are men floating about with nothing because of false accusations

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 14:51

but he will recover. I have no doubt of that

How on earth do you know that? Are you psychic? If he does, it's only because there's proof on camera that he was innocent.
Without it, the self doubt would still be there (Did I hit her? Maybe I caught her with my ring) the anxiety of thinking you were going to get into trouble for something you hadn't done (he really punched me, repeatedly, this is why women don't come forward!), and knowing that lots of people thought you were an abuser.
You couldn't easily come back from all that, regardless of you I don't believe lives are ruined comment.

DioneTheDiabolist · 03/09/2018 14:54

It is possible to be outraged at both false accusations and the fact that victims of sexual assault and DV often don't get justice.

Thesearmsofmine · 03/09/2018 14:54

Terrorist attacks are rare, I get angry about those, murders are rare, I get angry about them, incidents like Grenfell are rare, I am angry about that. Very strange to think we shouldn’t be angry about something because it is rare. It doesn’t mean we cannot also be angry about things are more prevalent.

She did something very wrong in this incident and that needs to be talked about as does the affect it may have on people who are genuine victims of abuse.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:55

rainboes I know that because quite simply, that is just what happens. Men are Teflon coated, I can name many many men who have not been affected when they have actually committed violent crimes - RT has done nothing wrong at all and has gained pretty much 100% of the support form fans (rightly so) - therefore logic dictates he'll be fine. There may be the odd person who thinks he's a 'woman beater' but they are unlikely to have an overwhelming influence on the British soap/TV industry to the point where they can ruin a successful actor.

ShatnersWig · 03/09/2018 14:55

Oh are we believing that Shatners friend didn't do what they were accused of?

Do you ever fucking read anyone's postings in full or does the oxygen from sitting on your high horse interfere? As CCTV was found proving that my friend wasn't where the accuser said he was, then it's not necessarily to believe me or my friend, there was actual physical proof. Oh, and the accuser was actually sent down for six months as it wasn't the first instance either.

Oh, and remember Nadine Milroy-Sloan who accused the Hamiltons of rape? She got sent down too.

So fuck off with you saying these things don't happen. They fucking well do and they can fucking destroy not only those accused but their entire families.

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:57

Fuck off yourself Shatner. You've given me two incidents, one well publicised because it's a rare case. You know a rare case. Do you accept that or do you really have the logic of 'oh well it happened to my friend so it must be common'?

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 14:58

Men are Teflon coated

Meaning? Confused

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:58

Thesearms you're comparing apples with oranges!

MurunBuchstansagur · 03/09/2018 14:58

Did I see somewhere that Davina is going to interview her?

GunpowderGelatine · 03/09/2018 14:59

rainbows meaning that whatever they do they will recover, as will their career, their fans and their support. It's an uncomfortable truth but it is what it is.

dustarr73 · 03/09/2018 15:00

And he will unintentionally be the poster boy for years to come for poor menz and the wimmin trying to ruin them

He is the victim cant you get your head around that. There are women who do this.Roxanne was caught on camera lying and being manipulitive.
Not all men are abusers and not all women are saints.

And if not one person stood up for her, including her ex castmates. That says more about her and what kind of person she is

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 15:00

Do you accept that or do you really have the logic of 'oh well it happened to my friend so it must be common'?

What has that got to do with ANYTHING? As someone upthread said, terrorist attacks are rare but do happen. Should we not be bothered about them either as they're rare? Such a strange stance to take. It's rare, so we shouldn't get worked up about it.Hmm

DioneTheDiabolist · 03/09/2018 15:00

Shatner didn't say that false accusations were common. She said that they happen and lives are ruined because of it. This is true.

ShatnersWig · 03/09/2018 15:01

I repeat, do you actually READ postings. I clearly said I accept false allegations are rare. I actually said that!

You, on the other hand, said this: False accusations are extremely rare, and like I've said, I don't believe for a minute that they ruin men's lives.

And I've said they do. With examples. I still say they are rare. Do you still say that you don't believe ANY MEN have had their life ruined by a false accusation?

rainbowsandsmiles · 03/09/2018 15:01

And if not one person stood up for her, including her ex castmates. That says more about her and what kind of person she is

I'm on Twitter, the sheer volume of celebs with not a good word to say was staggering and said a lot.

Nannyplumshairstyle · 03/09/2018 15:03

I don't know if anyone has posted this youtube link yet?

Really interesting seeing her behaviour. Especially when she asks "but how can you tell if someone's being sincere?" She is like an actual narcissist asking in earnest because she genuinely doesn't know.
