Maursh · 21/08/2018 22:06

ticks have eight legs

MissVanjie · 21/08/2018 22:07

Google image search says yes

When you get home you absolutely must not bring your luggage into your house

So sorry, that is grim

BabySharkDooDooDooDoo · 21/08/2018 22:07

They are horrible. I thought ds had been bitten by them last week but it was the start of chicken pox thank god. Feel bad saying that but id rather chicken pox than bedbugs any day of the week

Is this a bed bug?!
Brenna24 · 21/08/2018 22:07

It looks like one to me. Check the bedframes and under the matresses and see if you can see blood spots on them. Are you all getting bitten?

twosunbathingdogs · 21/08/2018 22:08

Be careful you don’t bring any home with you

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:09

No bites no, just saw this wee bugger tonight

I’m not checking anything, we are here till Saturday Sad Envy and doubt we’ll get anything else anywhere else

GinUnicorn · 21/08/2018 22:09

Yes be really careful of your luggage. They can live 2 years without feeding and you do not want to bring them home.

PineappleLava · 21/08/2018 22:10

Check the seams of the mattress if you can bear to lift the sheet - to see if there is any further evidence. Though it’s not guaranteed.
The main thing will be to ensure you don’t bring any bugs or eggs home with you and infecting your home. That could end up costing a bloody fortune and taking time.
It’s not pleasant.

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:10

Brilliant. How am I gonna sleep now?! I woulda been happy in blissful ignorance

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:11

Yes, so very sorry. Whatever the hell you do put nothing from your suitcases (or your actual suitcases) in your bedrooms when you get home. Boil wash everything, have suitcases fumigated or chucked.

The fuckers love fabric and one can live off of one bite for 6 months.

DrAdmin · 21/08/2018 22:12

I’ll just bin the lot, boke šŸ˜”

We were in a flat that had bed bugs. It is an extremely expensive problem to fix. And a huge hassle. Eggs/bedbugs are killed in a 60C wash so wash and tumble dry all your clothes. Steam clean any bags (they will live in the crevices). I wouldn't even let the bags into my house until this had happened. only a bit scarred from having to pack all of our belongings from the entire flat into bin bags and have the insectide people come in on my due date, and then have to repeat the process with. 3 week old newborn

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/08/2018 22:14

OK so numbers vary, I'm not 100% sure of the 6 months - 2 years but they are v resiliant. All things fabric is like catnip to them. Put your cloths & suitcases in the bath tub asap. I would change rooms or hotel asap.
Family member has had a minor infestetion (possibly brought back from posh US hotel) and it's hellish.
