The Sixth Sense film (contains no spoilers in OP)

Recently watched The Sixth Sense for the 1st time in many years (probably seen it 5 or 6 times in total). It's still brilliant but there is no feeling like the one when it all unfolds at the end the 1st time you watch it. I wish I could erase it and watch it for the 1st time every time.

Primal Fear is another one I feel like that about.

Got me thinking and I just wondered if anyone else has films they feel like this about, I love a twist so would like to watch a few new films to get this feeling again . . .

Yeah I get ya op.

The others?
The village?

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:01

Yes definitely The Others, loved that. Haven't seen The Village.

I tend to do the OTT dramatic gasp at the unveiling of the twist Grin

Se7en
YY to The Others
The Usual Suspects

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:05

Se7en is a quality film, really liked it but is pretty grim, watched Sixth Sense with DS(12) but won't be showing him that one yet. I adding all these to my Amazon wish list.

I think I’m the only person that got to the end of Sixth Sense and still had absolutely no idea what happened. Everyone I know says they guessed the twist before it came but I actually needed it explained to me Blush

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:08

Ohmmmnmm - DS struggled and needed
it explaining, I didn't guess before but did a big dramatic gasp when it started unfolding. I reckon people only say they guessed before but I don't believe it Grin

The village is so bloody scary! I need to watch the 6th Sense again. I've not seen it since about 1999.

BigBumandMumTum · 18/08/2018 22:10

What's that Leonardo decaprio one, he's at a mental institution?

Nuffaluff · 18/08/2018 22:12

‘Get Out’ is really good, a brilliant film. Like The Sixth Sense, it’s a not too scary horror that cleverly explores a serious issue (racism) with humour. Very clever. You spend most of it trying to work out what’s going on and it has an unsettling feel to it, like The Sixth Sense. It was Oscar nominated I think. The acting is really good.
I saw it a week ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Gobbychops · 18/08/2018 22:12

Shutter island

SleepingStandingUp · 18/08/2018 22:12

The Village is really good and I didn't guess.

Mother!?

ThanosSavedMe · 18/08/2018 22:12

Shutter island. Good film

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:13

Shutter island?

Ha, ha, didn't refresh quick enough

Sarahandduck18 · 18/08/2018 22:15

I make my own ending for shutter island!

Memento was also good.

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:16

Not heard of Get Out but just had a Google and it looks good

Loved the usual suspects when I saw it years ago. I recently watched it with my partner in gleeful anticipation of his guaranteed shock....he guessed long before the big reveal. Dammit

ginghambox · 18/08/2018 22:16

Fight Club
Saw

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:18

Just need to find time to watch all these now! DS is asking to watch things like IT so I thought start with Sixth Sense and work up and by that time he'll be old enough to watch that sort of stuff, I worry it's too scary yet so thought a few low key psychological thrillers would be good for him to find his limit!

Hubby says The Prestige

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:19

Jax - I hate it when that happens, spoil sport!!

KlutzyDraconequus · 18/08/2018 22:20

Memento
The machinist

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:21

DH just said he didn't guess the twists to any of these but he says he purposely doesn't think about it as it spoils it. He's like this with birthday surprises etc as he doesn't like to ruin it whereas I will full on snoop Grin

An old one but Arlington Road with Tim Robbins.
Usual Suspects but that ending was ruined for me way before I saw it. Still good though.

heeblejeeble · 18/08/2018 22:22

I loved the ending of fight club, I know it's not as dramatic as some of the ones mentioned here but I thought it so clever. Would love to watch it and be oblivious again.
