The Sixth Sense film (contains no spoilers in OP)

Recently watched The Sixth Sense for the 1st time in many years (probably seen it 5 or 6 times in total). It's still brilliant but there is no feeling like the one when it all unfolds at the end the 1st time you watch it. I wish I could erase it and watch it for the 1st time every time.

Primal Fear is another one I feel like that about.

Got me thinking and I just wondered if anyone else has films they feel like this about, I love a twist so would like to watch a few new films to get this feeling again . . .

Oooh I love the Sixth sense and the others. I really liked blair witch project, wolf creek was pretty full on

AtlantaGinandTonic · 18/08/2018 22:23

So many...

The Others
Shutter Island
The Sixth Sense
Get Out
(not a film but) True Detective
Three Billboards over Ebbing Missouri
Edge of Tomorrow
Looper
12 Monkeys

I'll stop there!

Not a film but I’ve literally just finished reading The Image if You by Adele Parks. Brilliant twist that I didn’t see coming! Would highly recommend.

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:23

DH just mentioned Arlington Road, brilliant film. Love Tim Robbins in it.

I see a Bruce Willis theme lol.

KurriKurri · 18/08/2018 22:25

I guessed the twist in Sixth Sense before it came and remember just gasping and thinking 'Oh no Sad'

I liked Shutter Island but not sure I quite got what happened Grin

Also that one with Johnny Depp - I think it's called 'Secret Window' was quite a good 'twist' film. (It's probably a 15 rating but mainly because of a bit of bad language IIRC)

KurriKurri · 18/08/2018 22:26

I've seen Fight Club and totally forgotten the ending - must watch it again !

ChoccyJules · 18/08/2018 22:29

No Way Out with Kevin Costner back in the day. See it once, can never un-know the end.

burnoutbabe · 18/08/2018 22:34

Trouble is, once you know it's a twist movie you spend the time guessing the twist. Which I did manage with sixth sense whilst watching as there aren't that many things the twist could be.
So knowing there is a twist sort of spoils it to an extent.

ShowOfHands · 18/08/2018 22:36

Unbreakable
Atonement

butlerswharf · 18/08/2018 22:39

You're next

EnidButton · 18/08/2018 22:40

Zany I did the dramatic gasp and 'oh my god he's...'. The person I was watching with saw their bum because they still hadn't got it. It was way past the point you're supposed to click though.

The Matrix was pretty wtf when I first watched it. It's very 90's on rewatch too. Still great.

Shawshank Redemption.

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:41

I don't think I have actually seen the end of Fight Club so may have to watch it again.

Unbreakable was a weird one but I quite liked it as thought the story was clever albeit a bit slow.

Choccy - I had a huge crush on Kevin Costner back in the day (weirdest crush for an 11 yo but think it was Robin Hood thst did it for me).

Burn - yes I agree, we've probably ruined these films for everyone now Grin

Enid- I only guessed jist as it was unveiled, I wouldn't make a detective that's for sure.

Primal Fear was my biggest gasp ever, I won't say any more as it could be several things that could be a twist in that so I won't ruin it. I adore Ed Norton though and he is phenomenal in that.

*just not jist

Side Effects

Everyone told me there was a massive twist with Sixth Sense "you'll never guess it" so I spent the whole time figuring out what would be a massive twist, and guessed it.

A twist movie is best when you aren't expecting it. Side Effects I love as you think you know what type of movie it is (and are enjoying it), then it switches to something v different. There you go, I've ruined it for you Grin

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:47

I didn't know there was a twist in Sixth Sense nor Primal Fear so I was totally shocked.

Not a film but last episode of Ashes to Ashes - so moving.

ZanyMobster · 18/08/2018 22:54

There are probably a few tv dramas that are similar too, can't think at the moment but most of them have some sort of twist but I do think you spend the whole time trying to guess and they purposely make it so you go off the track which is not as clever really.
