I am really shocked to read this www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6061061/Paul-Young-admits-20-year-old-burglary-Gino-DAcampo-hit-home-again.html - sorry a Daily Fail link.

For those who don't want to read the above, Gino D'Acampo burgled Paul Young's home in 1998 and was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Shock Not a big fan of his or anything but wow....

He's still at it. Have you seen the prices at his restaurants. Just ordering a drink at the bar and you get slapped with a 12.5% service charge for nothing.

cjt110 · 15/08/2018 10:28

Saggital That's robbery not burglary ! Grin

That's common knowledge. D'acampio is very remorseful and tbf has done his best to turn his life around.

RonniePickering · 15/08/2018 10:29

Yep, ex-con as well as annoying little dick.

PetraLost · 15/08/2018 10:29

I knew he had a criminal past, but clueless that he had stolen from Paul Young, invaded his home and caused so much hurt.

I never liked Gino anyway he is cheesey like Andre, they had the same manager.

cjt110 · 15/08/2018 10:30

Yes, he's not my cup of tea so to speak but I'm very surprised still.

WooYa · 15/08/2018 10:33

I'm shocked at this! I find him quite annoying too

Pinkkahori · 15/08/2018 10:36

It was 20 years ago and he served his time. What is the point of the justice system/prison etc. if a person is never allowed to move on?
I feel sorry for Paul Young but there is nothing more that can be done.

golddustwomen · 15/08/2018 10:37

I was shocked reading this this morning! Literally had no idea of his dodgy past.. fair play to the bloke for turning his life around though.

cjt110 · 15/08/2018 10:41

I'm not saying "He's a criminal and we should continue to punish him" Pinkkahori I'm just very stunned to hear this.

Great that he's picked himself up and made a career - just a very surprising fact.

Is his accent genuine does anyone know? I often wonder if one day we'll find out that he's really called Mark from Suffolk and the Italian act is a ruse thought up by his manager.

Pinkkahori · 15/08/2018 10:47

But your thread title called him a burglar. He was, 20 years ago but still labelling him as one now isn't really fair.

ManicUnicorn · 15/08/2018 10:50

I can't stand him, he makes my flesh crawl. He's not even remotely attractive IMO. God knows why so many women fancy him? Urghhh.

McNutty · 15/08/2018 10:50

His accent is authentic.
He is no longer a burglar. Isn’t great when people turn their lives around for good.
He now works very hard, has terrific work ethic and has a lovely family.

Ginger1982 · 15/08/2018 10:51

Bit unfair. He served his time and is rehabilitated. Clearly that's what the justice system is all about.

PetraLost · 15/08/2018 10:53

The Gino thing is like the Corbyn thing, they are presented as cool to like.

NoelHeadbands · 15/08/2018 10:54

I thought it was common knowledge as well tbh.

I don’t like him, but mainly because I think he’s sleazy.

PetraLost · 15/08/2018 10:55

If he had a horrible or no family and had not done well on TV would that mean he was still a criminal?

cjt110 · 15/08/2018 10:55

MyAuntyBadger I like this idea....!

OK... He's an ex-burglar. Still a shock to read.

OP posts:
cjt110 · 15/08/2018 10:56

Petra He is a criminal now - he has a criminal record. I am not a criminal because I don't have a criminal record. Same thing no?

Yes, he's served his time etc etc... I never said anything to the contrary but just that it was a shocking thing to read....

IwankaTramp · 15/08/2018 10:59

I think Paul Young has done a shitty thing raising this again.

If people can’t rehabilitate then you condemn to a life of continued crime.

He served his time and feels remorse- this is just unnecessary and spiteful.

IwankaTramp · 15/08/2018 11:00

You OP are being a spiteful gossip.

Badtasteflump · 15/08/2018 11:00

Yep, have to say I couldn't look at him in the same way after reading that.

Lots of people go through 'bad times' but most don't think it's ok to turn to burglary - a particularly horrible crime imo. So yes I'm still judging him for it.

cjt110 · 15/08/2018 11:01

IwankaTramp I must say I am inclined to agree with you on this. It's sad for him that this happened and it seems his wife's belongings were taken but there doesn't appear to be a just reason to raise it.
