New Talk Topic - Is this nice?

Hello all

We’ve noticed that ‘Is this nice?’ has been a pretty regular question on the boards in recent years - that is, MNers asking their fellow MNers for an unswervingly honest opinion on everything from jeans to ‘brave’ haircuts, from F&B paint colours to kitchen worktops, from tattoos to WTAF crisp flavours.

The advice, recommendations, and occasional ‘are you utterly bonkers?’ responses are generally brilliant, so we thought we’d give “Is this nice?” a proper home.

All you need to do is post a pic or link to whatever you would like advice on, cross your fingers, and wait for feedback.

As ever, we’re giving this a bash to see how it goes, so do let us know what you think!

This is Rory, my new puppy. I think he's nice.

Ahhh look at him!!! So cute

but it's often so very up-to-date and (unsurprisingly given its name) stylish that it isn't for for me.
So we need to subdivide it...e.g. For clothing:
' is this nice for leggy, size 8's'
'Is this nice...for dumpy 40- somethings who love cats'
And
' is this nice for people who love twee things'

Something about the title "Is this nice?" makes me want to swear like a sailor in a reply. Am I normal?
Yep, I agree - the concept isn't too terrible, but the name is really wet sounding, I imagine a 6 year old girl asking her friend about her pencil case that way..

Maybe 'Whadaya Think?' or 'Buy it or Bin it?', something better along those lines?

Blimey, yes - that would be rather Draconian! Sorry, @sandraleelemon, I misunderstood - I thought @mercurial123 was worrying that the board will be spammed with people trying to get free advertising.

We've got no plans for anything in the way of ads, other than the usual display advertising that all Talk boards have.

Well we have a style and beauty board for clothing and haircut advice.

We have a property/diy section where people ask about decor, etc.

Not sure we need this.
