Neighbour drove across my garden!!!

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 13:03

Last night I came home to find a car parked just outside my house below my neighbour's windows - now, not only this isn't not a parking space but the neighbour has driven through 3 different front gardens to get there!!!! WTF??!! (There are deep tyre marks on the lawn as a result 😖)

I'm attaching an homemade diagram to show how ludicrous the situation is. The yellow square is the current car's position and the yellow line the path taken!!! The green lines show my property as well as the invisible boundary on my front lawn. The driveways on the picture are slanted and once all cars are parked in their respective driveways (like they were this morning), there is no way out!!!

I've left an angry note on the windscreen but as the car has been covered in tarpaulin it looks like it could be there for a while!

So what do I do??? Build a wall/fence so it can never get out?? 😬

You'll be pleased to know that my next door neighbour (convertible man) has just planted a whole line of shrubs between our gardens and they're already quite tall!
So between my 3m long raised bed (which there is no way to drive across as there are lots of bricks and stones mixed with the compost to give it some proper height) and the new hedge the car is now properly trapped!!!!

On top of this I've got a police case reference number so if she tries to drive across again (which will create some damage) she'll be in trouble.

That's it, she had nearly 2 weeks notice to move it, she hasn't so screw her Grin

Pez I 'get' Why you've both done this, but the flip side of this is having to look at the eyesore car in front of your houses now.

ComputerUserNumptyTwit · 04/03/2017 13:40

Have you spoken to the letting agent? I'd threaten to I think, in your shoes.

kwick · 05/03/2017 10:36

Some photographic evidence would be nice pezWink

Pez82 · 26/03/2017 13:43

Kwick, this is for you 😊

The orange arrow shows how the car got there; the pink one was the attempt which got her stuck and damaged the other neighbour's car (convertible on second picture)

The flower bed is much bigger than it looks on the picture, it is 3m long. There is now a line of shrubs between my front garden and convertible guy's garden. He has cctv and would be really crossed if the neighbour drove across them. The way my raised flowerbed (with bricks) and his convertible car are positioned means there is no way out 😂

The only way for her to get out is to talk to her other neighbour (left hand side of her car - not on picture) to undo part of his fence to let her out.

I still have the police reference number and they told me to call back if she trespasses again.

So I'm pretty pleased and my garden looks better (I'm still renovating the inside so haven't focused on a fresh coat of pain outside yet!). Also need to invest in a trimmer 😉

That looks lovely! I wonder how long the car will sit for...

kwick · 26/03/2017 19:41

What a lovely flower bed Pez! Great photos :)

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 26/03/2017 19:45

I think the only solution now is to grow a climbing plant over the offending car!

SnugglyBedSocks · 26/03/2017 19:58

In the second picture there are two cars facing each other. Can't the orangey one move to let the other out?

InfiniteSheldon · 26/03/2017 20:18

Shameless me just adding a full stop .

TwoLeftSocks · 26/03/2017 20:20

Maybe a nice clematis to cover the car if it's going to be there a while?

Wondermoomin · 26/03/2017 20:45

Outrageous! I wonder how long it'll be there. Seems they might have been planning to park it there fairly long term if they can't drive it just now.

Pez82 · 26/03/2017 20:54

Thanks. I think once plants have grown bigger it will look lovely ☺️

The 2 cars facing each other belong to the same person (my next door neighbour whose garden was also trespassed on. He's the one who planted the shrubs - we're a team!!)

Yeah I think the car will be there for a while. To be fair, that small plot of land is never maintained anyway which drives me and other neighbours crazy as there are some times when nettles grow all over the path and me and others have to take care of it!

I need to try and find out who the letting agent is and complain

Excellent work. I think you need a tree now.

kwick · 27/03/2017 18:58

And maybe a water feature? Wink

Amaried · 06/06/2017 20:24

Dying to know how this worked out?

StealthNinjaMum · 25/06/2017 10:01

Me too, I was thinking about this thread the other day.( I get over invested in parking threads.)

snaggydaddy · 29/06/2017 22:36

I'd recommend leaving a note like this, though Knobhead would be my choice!

kwick · 03/07/2017 08:11

@Pez82 please advise if there is an update!!!

cottagecheesequeen · 03/07/2017 08:15

I think this is the best picture we've ever had.

Pez82 · 03/07/2017 09:45

Oh I had missed the latest messages.

Unfortunately the car is still there. The weeds had grown so tall around it (as obviously the same neighbour can't be bothered to do her front garden so we all have to look at the mess) that I was hoping brambles would damage it for ever... but last Friday the neighbour finally trimmed the weeds - just around her car though, she didn't bother cutting the nettles that have overgrown over the shared pathway and piss off everyone 😡

I've been keeping my garden tidy and the shrubs my other neighbour planted are in bloom so I don't think she would dare driving across again. And if she does I have the police report reference number and my other neighbour has cctv.

It's been so long anyway, I doubt the engine will start on its own Grin

The funny thing is that her other neighbours (the ones she would have to negotiate to get out the other way) are currently renovating and have a massive skip blocking the way at the moment 😂

(Very often I still think about buying boulder rocks, it's a shame they're so expensive)
