Neighbour drove across my garden!!!

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 13:03

Last night I came home to find a car parked just outside my house below my neighbour's windows - now, not only this isn't not a parking space but the neighbour has driven through 3 different front gardens to get there!!!! WTF??!! (There are deep tyre marks on the lawn as a result 😖)

I'm attaching an homemade diagram to show how ludicrous the situation is. The yellow square is the current car's position and the yellow line the path taken!!! The green lines show my property as well as the invisible boundary on my front lawn. The driveways on the picture are slanted and once all cars are parked in their respective driveways (like they were this morning), there is no way out!!!

I've left an angry note on the windscreen but as the car has been covered in tarpaulin it looks like it could be there for a while!

So what do I do??? Build a wall/fence so it can never get out?? 😬

That's very very odd

Bluebellevergreen · 22/02/2017 13:37

I can see the pic!!! That is mad!!!!!!!
Let me see if I can post it

Hoppinggreen · 22/02/2017 13:37

I would ring Police non emergency

LizB62A · 22/02/2017 13:38

No idea but if they've damaged your lawn, is that criminal damage?

FurryLittleTwerp · 22/02/2017 13:38
Shock
MistressMolecules · 22/02/2017 13:38

I can see the picture (the second photo has the markings you mention in the first post, the first photo in OP has no markings), but...there is no car in the space where you have marked the car as being?!?!? I am happy to be corrected if it is my eyesight

RaspberryOverloadTheFirst · 22/02/2017 13:38

If I understand the pic correctly, he's on your property? So I'd call 101 for advice on that.

In any case, this driver needs to make good the damage at the very least.

Megatherium · 22/02/2017 13:39

I very much doubt that the police will do anything - they'll say it's a civil matter.

RaspberryOverloadTheFirst · 22/02/2017 13:39

@MistressMolecules OP has probably modified a previously existing photo

Megatherium · 22/02/2017 13:40

Not on OP's property, so far as I can see, but he's driven across it to get there.

sussexman · 22/02/2017 13:41

That's completely bonkers. I second the advice about 101 and asking/reporting the car to the police. I'd be properly concerned about this.

blueskyinmarch · 22/02/2017 13:41

Mistress. I think OP has just used a google view of the houses to illustrate the issue. The car isn’t on the picture but there is a yellow rectangle where the car is now.

LizB62A · 22/02/2017 13:41

I can see the picture (the second photo has the markings you mention in the first post, the first photo in OP has no markings), but...there is no car in the space where you have marked the car as being?!?!?

I'm guessing that the pic isn't actually taken from the OP's personal satellite so probably wasn't taken today.......

insomniaat4am · 22/02/2017 13:42

I'm confused. Why did he not just drive up his own lawn into that yellow space? Why drive over 3 people's gardens to get to where he ended up?

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 22/02/2017 13:43

🚗 parking in the thread for updates

insomniaat4am · 22/02/2017 13:44

Ok I can see from the diagram that because there's a bush??? on the bottom of his garden that he may have had to cut over your lawn to get to where he ended up, but why did he take a long route over 3 sets of gardens???

hamble123 · 22/02/2017 13:45

Um....it might have been used as a getaway car in a crime and being hidden under the tarp? A robbery or a hit and run incident?

(I've been watching too many CSI dramas lol!)

Seriously I would inform the police. You may have one of those PSCOs who deal with non-urgent police matters who patrol/walk the beat in your area, maybe they could come round and look at your damaged lawns and then go and lift the tarp to check the car.

rainbowstardrops · 22/02/2017 13:47

I'd be fuming! Is it your actual neighbour who has been a twat or someone that's just been told he can dump park it there?
If it's covered in a tarp then I'd be tempted to call the police. You don't know what he's hiding.

HeyYouYesYou · 22/02/2017 13:47

I'm with insom, I don't understand why s/he drove across all the gardens?!?

Megatherium · 22/02/2017 13:48

I guess the direct route was blocked by someone parking?

RedBugMug · 22/02/2017 13:48

so you now need to
install a really tough indestructable fence so he can't use that route to drive out again.

Owlish · 22/02/2017 13:49

I can see all the pictures on the iOS app. OP, what a twat, I'd be furious Angry

Chicken4dinner · 22/02/2017 13:49

That's bonkers.

I'm not sure the police will be interested but I'd knock on the door (with other neighbour whose garden has tyre tracks) and ask how they're going to put it right.

Mynestisfullofempty · 22/02/2017 13:51

I just told my husband about this and he said the driver must've been drunk to have done that.

MistressMolecules · 22/02/2017 13:54

Ok, ignore me rambling about missing cars I'm slightly sleep deprived...the joy of a non sleeping toddler! Blush
