Neighbour drove across my garden!!!

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 13:03

Last night I came home to find a car parked just outside my house below my neighbour's windows - now, not only this isn't not a parking space but the neighbour has driven through 3 different front gardens to get there!!!! WTF??!! (There are deep tyre marks on the lawn as a result 😖)

I'm attaching an homemade diagram to show how ludicrous the situation is. The yellow square is the current car's position and the yellow line the path taken!!! The green lines show my property as well as the invisible boundary on my front lawn. The driveways on the picture are slanted and once all cars are parked in their respective driveways (like they were this morning), there is no way out!!!

I've left an angry note on the windscreen but as the car has been covered in tarpaulin it looks like it could be there for a while!

So what do I do??? Build a wall/fence so it can never get out?? 😬

LOL loving badkitten's gnome..............

Stormwhale · 22/02/2017 16:35

I would be fuming! Not only because of this piece of shitty behaviour, but the clear assumption that they will be fine to do it again when they want the car back out. All jokes aside op, I think you need to make a stand on this one. Do whatever it takes to make your boundary impassable so they are royally fucked.

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 16:35

No, they leave their wheelie bins in the street, blocking access to the path!

Soooo the car is still there and note left untouched. Have taken lots of photos. Also noticed they tried to take it down through the narrow path and clipped the neighbour's car in the process. He won't be too happy with this...

I'm planning for the new hedge I will be planting this weekend!!! There is no going out the same way for that bastard Angry

Shock Please tell me the neighbour who's car he clipped is a bodybuilder with rage issues?

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 16:42

Hum not really a bodybuilder BUT he loves his cars. The one the guy clipped is a convertible car which he doesn't use in winter and therefore protects under a tarpaulin, but I see him check on his car quite often. I'll go and knock on their door tonight to see if we can work together to block the way out!

I'm definitely getting shrubs this weekend (that is if the car is out by then)

Nooooooooooo!

The car must be TRAPPED!!!!!

HappyFlappy · 22/02/2017 16:49

I was coming on to say that this would be a case for Judge Rinder.

The orange god of small claims

That is a very neighbourly thing to do OP

Mehfruittea · 22/02/2017 16:58

Spoon anyone?

JakeBallardswife · 22/02/2017 16:59

Can I just compliment you on your diagram! Most helpful.

((Sidles off as nothing better to add))

Shadowboy · 22/02/2017 17:03

I'd be mighty miffed that my neighbour felt so little if my property that they would do this!

What a selfish, moronic thing to do. I hope they have a ruddy good reason!

ArseyTussle · 22/02/2017 17:04

Fuck it, Pez, get a moat.

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 17:04

Ah ah
I wast just looking at the price of giant boulders but they're clearly outside of my budget. £250 for a big rock??

I don't want a proper physical fence there but plants would be nice. There are already a couple and the car went in between so it is a matter of filling in the gaps! Just need to find plants big enough now Smile

Or maybe Greek columns Grin

Ok so now working on a moat, with Greek columns, vine, bird feeders and a waterfall, because why not Smile

Neighbours working together - reminds me of Mrs Jolly

Oh, Francis, how right you are!

A job for Jenny and Mrs Jolly if ever there was one!

I'm just posting to place mark, I must know what happens!

Pez82 · 22/02/2017 19:10

Spoke to the neighbour and he's seen the car before which actually belongs to the other neighbour's daughter. So not a stolen car. He's going to check his cctv. Another neighbour saw when this happened, apparently the lady got stuck trying to squeeze through the narrow path, which explains the deep marks as they then had to use planks to get her out. The marks on the left hand side are literally touching the neighbour's car - he was not impressed!!

So we're going to plant more shrubs at the weekend to create a natural barrier Smile he said he's been growing a few that are ready to go. He's definitely on board Grin

This car is not getting out anytime soon!!!

I must say this is probably the liveliest thread in Etiquette.
Ever.

RedBugMug · 22/02/2017 19:56

Please pez can we have some more photos?

Won't they just drive over anything you plant?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 22/02/2017 21:06

Have you considered a rockery op?

WonderMike · 22/02/2017 21:15

Have you got any trees that need cutting down? Big lumps of tree wood would make a cheap alternative to rocks.
